This is a huge game to win, but no disaster to lose. In this league home games are “must” wins, but road games vs contenders fall into the “gravy” win category. That said, a few “gravy” wins would be nice. Also road games against bottom feeders are “musts.” It does not help that two of the alleged bottom feeders are tied for 3rd at the moment.

If it turns out that Army is legitimate - and their wins over Boston U (away) and Colgate (home) suggest they might be - then the Bison win at West Point could turn out to be a big one in terms of the standings.

Win or lose, Bucknell as a team is coming around into form and Sestina and others are playing well so it will be a good game. Sestina and his great play last week may be just the antidote for a bevy of three point shooters that Lehigh have. Kimbal always plays well but seems to be a wildcard when it comes to the collective psyche of the team when they are on the court.
I do not know for sure, but I don't think Dr. Reed got his title from an online course. And I'm sure the players call him coach.
Steve Jobs washed his feet in the toilet? Say its not so. Now I really need to watch the game and occupy myself the rest of this stormy weekend and try to forget. How did he get his foot in the hole?

We've always had a tough time winning at Stabler and this game will be no different. We'll need to match their 3 point shooting and get some easy buckets inside to have a chance.

I agree. Also, Sestina needs to stay out of foul trouble.

So far, like what I'm seeing. Cautious optimism ...

This has been a very fun game so far. Both teams are playing a clean, hard game.

Not sure I understand the tremendous personal disdain and mocking of Reed year after year. A professor of Elizabethan Poetry is referred to as “doctor” so even though Reed’s accomplishment may not approach many other earners of a PhD, perhaps it gets more attention than is warranted? Refer to him as Coach Reed and if he gets upset, that’s on him. As for basketball, he seems to not always get the most out of his talent in terms of wins, but I know I’m always concerned when they play Bucknell.

Personally, I have no problem with it. The term Doctor has been appropriated by the medical profession in the US. Outside of the US in other languages, it is very common to call non-medical professionals "Doctor".

Nate Davis channelling his inner-Flannery right there. Love it.

Go Bison!

Lehigh 8-9 from 3. Are you kidding? I mean I know they’re good from 3 but this is ridiculous

The Bison have weathered the storm very well. Lehigh can shoot, but this cannot continue in the second half.

Great first half by Newman after Sestina picked up his second foul.

Honestly it was a great half. Newman was the key to me in the half. Played great and filled in for Sestina nicely since he had 2 from the 11 minute mark. Lehigh shot the lights out and we still come away with the lead. Hope it continues...oh and the refs are awful as per usual.

Indeed, Newman's development has been terrific. He's still a little adventurous on defense (strolls out to 3 pt. land too often/for too long) but, even there, he's clearly playing under much better control. Just a thrill to see him come into his own.

Go Bison!

I echo the praise for Newman’s play in the first half. Great job when his team needed him. I know the shooting gets the headlines, but both teams appear to have a nice offensive flow. Bucknell’s half court offense looks better than in many games this year. Lehigh’s 3-pt shooting is crazy. Andree hit two from ridiculous distance. Entertaining game. Hopefully Bucknell ends up with more points at the end.

I’m amazed we have the lead with the way Lehigh shot the ball. Great work by Newman and Mackenzie to give us the lead.

If you’re on a plane and they ask for a doctor, and you don’t feel you can raise your hand - you shouldn’t be referring to yourself as doctor (outside of the academic setting...)

If you told me that Sestina was going to have only 2 points at halftime, I would have predicted that the Bison would be down 10-15 points. So, I cannot be happier.

A good game to watch. Lehigh playing really well but Bucknell has the lead. Avi not having his best game. Newman will probably end up scoring a career high against a first place Lehigh so the future looks good.
