The last two games there has been a noticeable difference in rebounding. Moore is definitely the main cause. But I don’t think it’s a coincidence that two of our best games of the season was when we did a good job on the boards.

From appearances, it does seem Davis has given that task to Moore. Moore, in turn, has turned into Pac-Man. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npOpr7juN1Y

Go Bison!

Moore's rebounding totals for the last four games:

American 15
Holy Cross 10
Lehigh

Prior to these games, he had played 80 games and, incredibly, his career high was 7 boards. Last year, believe it or not, he averaged 2.2 rebounds per game in about 21 mpg. If he can keep his play at the level of the last few games, the Bison will be very tough. And by the way, he is averaging almost 13 ppg over the last five games.

I agree with the adage that a lot of rebounding is desire. Have to want to get in position, have to want to be physical and work. Maybe the staff got on him? Because his career prior to this last five game stretch is a large sample size with lots of playing time.

Toomer and Moore are gifted players I’ve never felt have properly broke out. But look at Kimbal!

We’re a deep program that reloads rather than rebuilds. The last 15 years have been great times to cheer for the Bison.

Realized that I had a couple of typos in my last post. Should have said:

Moore's rebounding totals for the last three games:

American 15
Holy Cross 10
Lehigh 8

- - - - -

One interesting item occurred with 8:25 remaining in the game. Lehigh had three starters out - Tejada, Andree, and Karnik - who had been waiting at the table for about 40 seconds to get back in. Andree had sat for 7:30 with minor foul trouble and Tejada for over 6 minutes despite no foul trouble. LU is obviously not as good with those three out.

In any event, Mackenzie scored for the Bison. No whistle or stoppage of play, but suddenly the horn sounded, apparently inadvertently. After the refs sorted it out, the three subs were allowed to come into the game. Without the whistle, it is possible they might have been stranded on the sideline for another minute or more. I don't know the rule - if there is any - for an inadvertent horn. But I do know that if there is an inadvertent whistle then no subs are allowed to enter the game. I'm not sure if the refs got this right.

Great game. Notwithstanding the BU loss Lehigh looked ro me like the best PL team we’ve played thus far. That win was earned.

Fantastic win in a very tense game . Both teams played well. Our vets came through in the clutch. PL standings are crazy. Three “contenders” in the bottom 5.

I thought it was a great game and am looking forward to the rematch at Sojka. Bragging rights for first place go to Bucknell.
I was bothered at the beginning of the game when Kimbal scored the first points of the game but it was waved off by the refs because the 24 second clock didn't start. I felt we were robbed of 3 points and that makes a difference in these close ones. Otherwise it was an enjoyable game to watch with lots of lead changes.

137, I found that strange also. I'm pretty sure that players cannot enter on an inadvertent whistle. If they can, wouldn't that be the essence of home court advantage?

I was just looking over the box score. The numbers are crazy. If I told you before the game that Sestina would play only 21 minutes and have 10 points AND Lehigh would shoot 61.9% from beyond the arch, who would you have predicted to win the game?

I was rather impressed that we held a 2pt lead going into the half with Lehigh scorching the nets going 8-10 from 3

Hard to figure, but the numbers don’t lie. They scored 18 more points than us via the 3. We scored 16 more than them via the 2, for a combined two point advantage to LU. We scored 4 more foul shots (11-7) than them, thus 2 points final margin in our favor. We basically made (and took) more shots than they did, and surprisingly, for a road game, got to the line more often, and while we were not lights out at the line our 68% beat their 53%.

Not sure if Bison have a "Big Man" coach, but have noticed for past 5+ games, both Moore and Newman have been using their legs and lower body more to box out. Before, they appeared to primarily rely on their arms. Poor technique and neither strong enough to get by this way. Have to give kudos to coaching staff for this improvement.

HoleinOne, good observations. Also, Newman's improvement cannot be overstated. He is a different player from last year. To be honest, I had some concerns about him last season. Now, I am impressed. So, yes, I agree that the Bigs Coach should be commended.

Not surprisingly, also made the top play of the week in the PL. https://watchstadium.com/network/patriot-leagu e-ne...

Sotos is getting all the attention, but Mackenzie and Moore were the stars of this game.

Yes, great games by Kimbal and Bruce. I would add a third star, the two-headed monster at center. who collectively got 20 points and 14 boards while playing exactly 40 minutes.

Btw, since Christmas Sotos has 55 assists and only 14 turnovers; almost 8 assists per game and almost a 4:1 assist to turnover ratio.
