I suspect that tonight's game will be more challenging than the Cornell game. The Cannady absensce certainly appears to have an effect on the point spread.
From a defensive scheme, Arirguzoh needs to play excellent one on one defense on Tape so that the other Tiger defenders stayed glue to the Columbia 3 pt shooters. Tape has improved considerably and he has more size that Brodeur and reasonably good moves but not as good as Brodeur. Columbia will normally have 3 3pt shooters on the floor and the Tigers cannot lose site of Adlesh, Stefanini and Killingsworth.
I suspect that there will be less 3 pt shooting by the Tigers and more attacking the rim with Stephens, Richmond and Llewellyn based on Columbia's interior defense.
The final result might simply be a function of Columbia's 3 pt shooting percentage and the Tiger's defense. Not an easy road game for sure.

Princeton will definitely want to attack the rim. Rebounding may also be an area where the Tigers can dominate if they play aggressively. Need to win the turnover battle too. Seems like without DC3, getting more FGA + FTA will be needed to compensate for a lower shooting percentage from outside.
Would be nice if Aririguzoh could get Tape in early foul trouble.

Tiger defense really solid and our guys are rebounding the hell out of the ball. 34-17 at the half. Next man up? Ryan Schwieger with 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in first half.

Tigers start the second half looking like they thought Columbia was going to roll over. Not going to be that easy as Columbia comes out fired up and starts cutting into the lead.

Tigers throwing the ball all over the place and taking quick shots. Big Richmond not getting any passes. Columbia cuts 17 point halftime lead to 10. Uggh...

If only we had a great 3 point shooter to loosen up the Columbia D.

I don’t feel good about this game. Tigers keep turning the ball over and Columbia’s shooters are going to start making shots. Lead down to 8.

We must be watching different games... PU in complete control, forcing Columbia into some really bad shots.

What a frustrating game to watch! Great first half followed by apparent collapse. But, so far, Columbia hasn’t taken advantage of nearly as many of our turnovers as they should have. Can we hang on? Too much dribbling leading to turnovers or horrible shots.

A win that was very ugly and hard to watch. Great D offset by very sloppy second half. We cannot rely on many teams to lose to us if we play like tonight.

Winning by 12 with our leading scorer out? What an impressive team effort -- Mitch can coach defense after all! Another Butler-esque win.
In the short-term, we may benefit from "Patrick Ewing Theory" with Cannady out. Tonight, it was Schweiger having himself a game, and Morales did a great job handling the ball under pressure after that crazy TO-filled start to the 2nd half. Columbia brought the defensive energy there, but they also ran out of gas on offense in the process (as did we).
Who knows if/when Devin will be back, but it looks like this team may be able to stay in the top half of the league in the mean time.

Old school win.
Pete will be proud.
3 games up on Pennsylvania. Big 5 champs get no respect in frigid Ithaca.

It seems that the Tigers have been getting off to slow starts in non-conference games under Coach Henderson's stewardship but Mitch and the coaching staff normally get it together as the season progresses other than last year which was an aberration.
Based on interviews with him, he seems to have the ability to stop the bleeding and get his teams to play physically and mentally tough.
I must admit that it was somewhat interesting and rater amusing to hear the doom and gloom predictions for the Tigers earlier in the year plus after Devin's suspension. Will the team hold it together until Cannady's return or non-return?, time will tell but the suggestion that there might be some issues with Henderson's coaching perhaps may have been off based.
Tigers are lucky to have him and I believe that Coach Jones has been a great replacement for Coach Kittles as one only has to see the progress of Arirguzoh.
I hope that the league continues to underestimate the Tigers without Cannady.

Another wonderfully ugly win by the Tigers! 35% shooting, 20% from 3-pt range, a mere 4 assists with15 turnovers but tough defense and strong on the boards.

Announcer Dr. John Giannini talked about 3 "lock down" defenders - Stephens, Arirguzoh and Llewellyn. Stephens versatility as a defender is a real strength of the team as he can take anybody on from 6'1 to 6'7".
Llewellyn played very well in the first half as well as Schwieger. DesRosiers rebounding is very good but he is struggling offensively. Not much from Much.
Would be nice if Cannady returns next week. Giannini talked about Cannady in street clothes really urging his teammates very hard -- called it senior leadership.

Oh man that second half was brutal on both sides. Princeton got uncharacteristically sloppy with the ball, the one thing they cannot afford.
Llewellyn is frustrating because he seems so close to being great already. His drive-and-kick passes are so beautiful. He just can't make a shot.
Right now nobody active is shooting better than 31% from three. That has to regress upward...right?
