It'd sure be nice if they were playing this at Fordham's Rose Hill Gymnasium!

So we can pay for 400 extra seats? Not a good idea, and they never would do it. If you are going to rent, rent Carneseca or Bridgeport or the RAC so everyone can attend. But they have made it clear that they will keep it at Ivy sites.

It's Carnesecca, and if we did as you propose Doctor, there WOULD, in fact GO the neighborhood.

Just a typo---I went to games there when Paultz and Dove and Joe DePre played and then moved on and played together with the Nets in the Island Garden in Hempstead. What's your background with the Redmen, er, Red Storm?

I respect SJU because, unlike dopey Columbia, they've always looked to cultivate their links to New York City amateur basketball. Great memories; I'm just a true fan of theirs; and Lou- fan of yours, too, as little as you may appreciate it!

Question about Payne Whitney seating. Appears that sections 207, 208 and 209 are sold out but sections 107 and 109 have not. Same price, and 107 and 109 are closer to the court. Might 100 tix be bleachers vs 200's seatbacks?

Anyone know?

Found a good photo online. Yes, it appears 100's are pull out bleachers whereas 200's are chairbacks.

Seat selector for Sat games:

https://athletics.ticketing.yale.edu/IvyMadness/On...

Yes, the upper seats are the seatbacks, as at Harvard. The balconies also are seatbacks.

I received my tickets yesterday in the mail. Hard tickets---Penn better make it in. They will not be easy to sell on StubHub

My tickets were sent by email and printable.

I did think this would sell out by now. HYP should have purchased their tix by now. Brown, Cornell and Penn have reason to wait a few days.

Is it that 7/8's of the league doesn't care enough to purchase tix and Penn fans only care enough if it's at the Palestra so they don't have to travel? That would underscore the lack of interest in this thing and confirm that we're fine in smallish arena's as well.

Of course, more likely that tix sales take off starting Sunday. I think that fans will learn that the school allotments are too tight and have to buy tickets from the IvyMadness site.

I'm willing to bet that right now Penn fans still hold more tickets than any other school. It has nothing to do with the Palestra. And we are currently sweating it out big time.

Is there really any question that Penn fans travel in far greater numbers than any other Ivy basketball school?

If the tournament in Hanover is Harvard, Yale, Penn and school X... it will be fine.

If school X is Dartmouth, it's a sellout.

I really really do hope that Dartmouth participates at home that year.

Also, does anyone know what this is supposed to mean: "According to the Ivy League office, tickets are being sold at a faster rate compared to this date in the two previous years."

Is this in amount or % of capacity?

When you go on the Ivy Madness site I learned two things:

1. The site discloses (when you click in the right place) that there are 334 tickets left for sale; and

2. The link to parking instructions doesn't provide any parking info.

Anyone know where to park?

Yeah, it is a crap event, so we can hold it in crap high school arenas. Penn fans are the only ones who will show up in numbers & who cares about them.

My wife and I went to the Princeton-Harvard playoff at Yale back in 2011. It sold out and there was great energy in the building. No assigned seating and the place was split right up the middle between Princeton and HarvRd fans. We never did find any official parking. We drove around and around until finally finding a place on the street about 10 minutes walk away. Thought we’d be really early but barely made the tip-off. Really lame preparations for that event but it was exciting.

There is not much parking around Paine Whitney.

There is a Courtyard Marriott around the back of the gym that has a parking deck behind the hotel.

I've been parking there for games for probably 25 years and never had a problem (YMMV).

And they used to let you back in the building for the second half of games, so you could have a beer in the Mexican place next door during halftime. Sadly, that no longer is possible.
