I'm curious how a 2,800 seat arena is not sold out at this time?
Given the preseason predictions of Harvard, Yale, Penn and Princeton, I guess that a number of the most passionate fans from those schools bought tickets early (December and early January) in order to get the best seats.
I would have thought more of the passionate and casual fans from Yale, Harvard and Princeton, who held back from buying tickets early and live between Boston & Metropolitan NYC, would have purchased many of these tickets since their teams have had a high probability of making the Tournament for a number of weeks (looking at the YUSAG info, Yale has been in the upper 90's since early January; Harvard since 2/16 and Princeton around 2/22). Since the league says it has sold more tickets by this time than it did in the first 2 years, maybe my assumption is incorrect.
If the league is correct in its comments, then they sold a large number of tickets over the last couple of weeks in years 1 & 2. Do people think that H/Y/Pr fans will buy a large amount of the remaning tickets or will that need to come from the fans of the eventual 4th place team?
If Penn is not one of the 4 teams, then there may be a number of unused tickets that will add to the existing unsold seats. Do people think that Brown or Cornell fans will be able to buy the rest of the tickets or is there a distinct possibility that there will actually be open seats in the smaller arena?

Wonder if the problem is that fans think they'll be able to purchase through their school. I heard each school gets an allotment of 100 tix and thus was advised to purchase from Yale/Ivy Madness. Season Ticket holders could find themselves in need of tix.
You are probably right, though. If Penn qualifies there could be a run on tix and a robust aftermarket. I would think that Brown fans would be willing to make the short trip.

Each school's allotment of tickets will go on sale this Sunday, after the schedule and matchups have been set. Many fans are probably waiting for those tickets, so they can sit in their team's section. When those run out, they will then probably buy from the public ticket section.

Penn season ticket holders were advised not to wait, because they are 3rd in line to get tickets (donors and Champion Club members go first). With an allotment of 100, there was virtually no chance that season ticket holders with no other category would get tickets. We're probably the group that has purchased the most tickets so far, even though it is anything but a certainty that Penn goes.

I am guessing that the 100 tickets that each school gets include the student tickets. Looking at the ticket site, there are 56 seats in each of the two student sections (106 and 110). That would leave 44 seats for each school.
Since the student sections are emptied after each game, I wonder if those other tickets are for that school's individual game (2 games if both men and women make it in). If so, they probably would be in the bleacher sections 101-102 or 104-105 behind the benches.

Judging by the number of Yale fans on this board.....I'm not surprised.

The Harvard-Yale game in New Haven sold out two weeks ago. It got plenty loud then — they actually had a white out — and it was an overall great environment.
I think most normal fans just wait until the last minute to figure this stuff out. I'd be shocked if the tourney didn't sell out too.

Yes, Yale's spring break ends Monday, March 17th.
Harvard's spring break starts Friday, March 15th.
Princeton's spring break starts Friday, March 15th (or earlier for students whose midterm exams end earlier in the week).
Penn, Brown and Cornell are not on break that weekend.
Last year Penn's break ended the day after the Championship, so Penn students were able to return to school on Sunday and attend. Yale students would have that luxury this year if Yale makes the Championship game. Seems like another good reason to rotate the locale - or scrap this thing.

I trust I might be able get a deep discount on Premier Seats if my Bears go to New Haven. I might get a limo so that I don't have to worry about parking.

Ah, but Courtside is sold out. Premier appears to be bleachers.
Good Luck, hope to see you and your Bears there!

Yes, Yale's spring break ends Monday, March 17th.
Not according to its Academic Calendar--classes don't start up again until Monday, March 25th. How silly is it to have the ILT at a place where students are smack dab in the middle of break?

You are right! Spring break is from March 8 to March 25th! I saw March 8th start of break and never assumed the Yalies get two weeks off!
So, this tournament is obviously not very accessible for students. No tickets and they need to interrupt a vacation. That ain't happening.
What a great way to neutralize HCA - play when there are no students around. Ingenious!

Not really leaving too many options when break is 17 days long. How can that be?
If Penn doesn’t make it and anyone needs 3, PM me.

Just got the Penn ticket office e-mail, which gives ticket priority as follows:
The ticket allocation priority will be as follows:
1. Above the Rim Club member
2. R. Tait McKenzie Society member
3. Non-Above the Rim Club donors to Basketball
4. Non-R. Tait McKenzie Society donor to Athletics
5. Penn Basketball season ticket holder
6. Penn Alumni
So I'm actually in Group 5, not 3. That's why I bought tickets separately.
