Understandable that Yale is a heavy favorite. Without knowing the status of Llewellyn, this game would be a tough one to go with the Tigers even with the points. If Llewellyn and Cannady were playing, Yale would still be the favorite but it might be a tempting bet.

Over the past 7 games in which the Tigers are 7-0, the other team were favorites in six of the seven games. Based on the predictions of the experts, the Tigers should be 0-4 in IL play so anything can happen in a given game.

The next 3 games Yale, Brown and Harvard will be the toughest stretch of the season and may be determinative if the Tigers have any opportunity to win the regular season. As one who has no interest in IvyMadness, these games matter and will be extremely challenging. Let's see if the next man up and defense/rebounding first philosphy can holds up or not.

Friday night will probably be the toughest test of them all - road game against a very tough team. Biggest challenge is try to keep the Bulldogs from going on a major run or two == may not be possible.

I don't believe that Princeton has announced anything yet about the status of Llewellyn or Cannady for this weekend's games.

Thanks for information.

Yale is 6-0 at home with a 16 pt differential. It is also Alumni Weekend and finally, they have swept Penn and Princeton 7 of the past 8 years.

Challenging game but let it rip! Nothing to lose.

FWIW to all punters.

Here are the Ivy standings ATS this season:

Princeton 4-0
Yale 3-1
Dartmouth 2-1-1
Columbia 2-2
Cornell 2-2
Harvard 2-2
Brown 0-3-1
Pennsylvania 0-4

It's Ice Carnival weekend in Hanover so look for the Indians to bring home the wampum.

It's strange how the identities of teams can drift over time. Who would have imagined a few years ago a Yale team with a lot of skilled finesse players facing a physical, defensive Princeton squad?

The Tigers are going to have to go in ready to be physical. Play tough D, hit the boards, try to cut down on the turnovers, and attack on the inside. Pray for 30% three-point shooting or better and keep hitting free throws.

A tall task, but not an out-of-reach one. Startle the world!

I have been under the belief that Devin would have a minimum suspension of at least 5 games or possibly season long. I thought that there would be an outside chance that we would return for this weekend's games. He obviously remains very close to the team and has been actively engaged during timeouts, pre-game etc.

At the end of the day, I believe that Princeton's administration will make the correct decision based on all of the facts which we do not have. I am fine with whatever decision they make. If he does come back, there will be a certain level of "noise" that the administation will have to deal with.

Mitch and the administration are obviously not communicating so a final decision has probably not yet been made but who knows. Time will tell.

Once again, I agree.
I expect Jaelin to play, although I have no idea if he will be hampered. If he is not effective the Bulldog backcourt might be too much too handle. Schwieger was very effective posting shorter defenders last week, but that is a far more difficult task against Yale. I think Stephens and Richmond will more than hold their own, but our rather slim chances depend upon another superb total team effort on defense. You hate to go into Friday's game hoping for a weekend split but I'd take it right now. Cambridge has been slumping for some reason and spending 40 minutes with Myles Stephens on your butt is a tough way to break out of it.

Another match up that may cause problems besides Copeland is Reyonolds. He has the ability to sneak out beyond the 3 pt line and Reynolds can shoot 3s. DesRosiers, Much, Schwieger cannot take their eyes off him while others have the ball. As Yale has both an inside/outside game, the Tigers will have to play a defense similar to Penn vs. Columbia and Cornell but Mitch will have to make game time adjustments based on who is hot.

I always love the explanation when a team loses especially to a lesser opponent that the other team was simply hot beyond the arc or within 2 pt territory and thre is no accountability regarding how the defense played -- sounds like a big old excuse. It certainly becomes more challeging to stop a multi dimensional offensive team but as a coach, your job is to figure it out and make adjustments.

It sounds like a considerable amoount of focus at Tiger practices this week was getting the offense more productive.

Good news for us AND for a pair of Penn fans who felt unfairly treated because of the possibility that other Ivies who have the advantage of playing Princeton without Cannady. I trust they will rest easier because of his early return😈🐅

Hello, I'm an admitted student watching my first game as a fan. Can someone give me a quick rundown on the squad?

You just saw one of our worst halves of the season. The team has been playing great team defense with passable offense for most of the year. Aririguzoh has been a very consistent inside scorer, and Cannady has been a great 3-pt shooter. Llewellyn is the best ballhandler and driver. Stephens is an athletic wing who is the best defender and a solid inside-outside scorer. The forwards, Much and DesRosiers have been inconsistent scorers but solid rebounders. Morales is quick and gets some steals. Schwieger is a good offensive player but only so-so on defense.

The team has mainly been playing 7-8 players, but many of the bench players could be brought in for specific skills, like Friberg for threes or Barnes/Johns for defense.

Yeah I figured that was a pretty brutal half for a 12-5 team lol. Guess I brought bad luck.

Thanks though, that was really helpful. Let's hope they complete this comeback.

Not even mad about the loss. It all came down to rusty Cannady going 0-6 with 0pts in the first half while Oni had an insane career game where even a blocked shot went in.

Just great to have Devin back and the team we saw in the 2nd half looked great to me. Simply ran out of gas after that ugly first half where Cannady couldn't hit anything.

Yale played better and deserved to win. They have a lot of talent.

Although the loss is a road loss, every game counts in the IL and it was a very disappointing 1st half performance.

Need to forget about it for now and bounce back asap. The regular season championship is still out there for a number of teams.
