We are supposed to lose by 10. In the past, we have had teams with weaknesses that would nevertheless surprise us every once in a while. This team fights hard and plays together, but it just doesn't seem to have another gear. For this reason, I doubt that we will get much closer, and I worry that we may experience a demoralizing blow-out.

Columbia Women lead Harvard by 15 at halftime. Columbia outscored Harvard in the first quarter 22-2. Riley Casey already has 20 points. Coach G is using a three shooter attack mode with Columbia's 3 star players scoring 40 of 42 points. She's a terrific game coach.

Omg... this is one of the most unreal games I've seen in a long time... going to triple OT.

Someone needed to tell Stefani the ball needs to hit the rim on a FT when you’re trying to miss.

A heartbeaker, for sure. But I think Columbia Basketball may have come of age tonight.

Aiken's 3-pointer at the end of OT was a circus shot of epic proportions... he probably sinks that 1 out of 10 times at best.

Loved how they fought back in the 2nd OT after that shot.

Bibbs looked real good too... want to see him get more playing time the rest of the season.

We lose in triple OT, 98-96. A terrific game in which we kept pace for 54 minutes, before losing our 7th of the season by 3 pt or less. Stefanini with 26, Adlesh with 24, and Tape in perhaps his best game yet with 22 pts and 12 rebs. Bibbs also hit two threes and is coming along.

It is very frustrating. We are just so close....

Those kids deserve a lot of credit. We can all second guess about various decisions but that would be unfair. Tape finally put it all together. Bibbs started to show his potential. Stef and Adlesh played gutty ball.

Yes, and a team that pushes Harvard at Harvard to a 2 pt loss in triple OT should exceed the projection of 1-7 the rest of the way.

Heroic effort by our Columbia Men's Basketball Team that almost resulted in a much needed victory for the Columbia program over a very physically talented Harvard squad with a remarkably skilled player in Aiken. That Columbia almost pulled off an upset of Harvard is to the credit of all of the Columbia players and hopefully a sign of better things to come during the remainder of the season. As always, I agree with Chet and cc66's astute comments about Stef, Adlesh, Tape and Bibbs. Those four players, plus Brumant, all excelled last night giving me hope that perhaps this Columbia team will enjoy some degree of success the next few weekends.

Heartbreaking result but nonetheless a huge step forward. The absence of Smith is felt when we meet a PG like Aiken, because Smith has the speed to neutralize Aiken and has done so in the past. Also, when we get Smith back Stef can go back to SG, and I like a backcourt with the two of them and Bibbs, who I still think has a high ceiling. PS, where was Maka Ellis last night?

I wondered about Ellis too. Was he injured, or was that a tactical decision about playing time, with particular emphasis on Ellis' defensive deficiencies. Next year, Ellis is one of the players who is going to have compensate for the loss of offense from Adlesh's graduation. In the meantime, if he plays more tonight against Dartmouth's weaker defense, we'll know that his absence last night was a tactical decision.

It is not unfair to second guess Engles not fouling up three. Under 6 seconds left you foul once the ball comes into the frontcourt. Kyle was a huge proponent of always fouling in that situation. There are a lot of things that have to go right for the shooting time just to tie. Yes, it happened against Manhattan but that outcome is very, very rare.
I can hear Jimi!
