And that’s that. Thanks refs. Thanks a lot. Inexcusable to miss that. Changed the entire game. Eff this.

This is looking grim. We get within one possession, but can't manage the score we need to keep the momentum going. And then they get a run going.

What do we have left in this one?

Is anyone surprised penn is not shooting well at PW?
Offensive boards and 2nd chances are the surprise. Kept them in it for a while. Max really answered the bell tonight along with Woods.

I’m glad these Yale players are enjoying this. It will be remembered. That I promise.

Long memories on both sides. Kind of feels like payback for our win in the tournament semifinal last year.

Cornell has the Harvard lead to one. Great.

It’s really fun watching Harvard have awful possession after awful possession while Amaker sits with his hands in his pockets. This one could really hurt.

Amaker is a horrible game coach and no one can tell me otherwise. He has NOTHING at the end of games. He just tells the players to go. Works well. Not a good night.

This old head wasn’t posting because I was there for this disaster. Wang and Woods missed consecutive open 3 looks that could have tied it at 62 and we then made one bad decision after another to give up a 9-0 run. Ballgame.

Just don’t have enough guys capable of scoring other ways when the threes aren’t falling, especially in the backcourt. Last year Foreman turned himself into one of those guys in Ivy play. We haven’t had the equivalent from the guards this year.

I know how this may sound but penn was playing with house money tonight. I really enjoyed watching PU go down with Cannady and what Cornell did to Harvard. That was special as Morgan was a non-event until late when he always has the ability to take over. Columbia predictably left their game in Cambridge last night. No shame there.

Good for you for going. And yes, those looks were wide open. Bryce having his worst game of the year didn’t help.

I only caught the last 8 minutes or so. The brought it close with plenty of time, but then it got away. Mike Wang took 2 quick release 3's. He has a good quick release, but his eyes and feet seemed less set than his good shots.

Wood was trying to make things happen. He was defending players much larger (as usual) and certainly making them work. His three point shot is an enigma though. He sort of loses touch with the ball sometimes as he shoots and the shot isn't even close. Occasionally when he doesn't lose fingertip control, his shot looks pretty smooth and accurate.

To me the key is that against Ivy competition they are just not moving the ball as briskly both in their passes and dribbling. Each player holds the ball just a bit longer to see their one-on-one possibilities, thinking that the Ivy competition is not as tough as their non-conference. The problem is that this Penn team is not more athletic than their competition. Their ball movement IS their advantage on offense. While they indeed may have more interesting one-on-one opportunities against Ivies, quick ball movement confuses the defense, makes them scramble, and opens up great shot opportunities. The great assisted baskets really dishearten their opponents. They are giving up the very thing that helped them to big games against good teams.

Not sure why Steve played only 7 guys at Brown, I guess he was prepared to be happy with a split for the weekend. Brown was down 20 to 8 at the 10 minute mark in the first half and up 12 at half time against P'ton with DC scoring 0. The second half, Brown did to P'ton what Penn did to Brown on friday. That's the IL this year.

We gave up 44 points in the second half tonight. We can’t do that and shoot it poorly. When you have guys on the floor giving up more points than they are scoring, that’s bad combination.

Keep talking. It usually turns out well for you guys when you do. You’d think that after what happened only a few weeks ago, Princeton fans would find some humility and just stfu for once but nope, here we are. Karma will be a bitch.

As for the ball movement issue, yes they did force it down the stretch but I think we see less assists because the teams know each other so well. Plus, they had their chances with some nice passing throughout the game and just couldn’t finish. It happens. The fact that it was as close as it was with them shooting as poorly as they did was a good sign.

The refs did not cost us the game. That’s a ridiculous statement.

It's kind of depressing that a team that went 4-0 in the Big Five is struggling to make the Ivy Tournament. There is still plenty of hope, but the room for error is rather small. Let's get a home sweep next weekend. If we don't, that window will narrow a lot more.

Did people really expect us to win that game? I’d say the activity on the game thread was a good indicator of how others approached this game. If we had just split with Princeton would people still be in this mode? Yes it will be tough, but with 6 of 8 at home this is far from over. I also wonder how much the back to back comes into play when comparing performances from the early season. We’ve already determined that familiarity is probably the biggest reason for what we’re seeing.
