Can any of the statistical mavens out there tell me whether we lead the nation in losses by under 3 pts?
We have lost 8 games by that margin. Has anyone else in Division I lost more?

I have Columbia at 8, Fairfield at 7, and four teams at 6 including Dartmouth (five of those coming in Ivy play!)
On the other end Princeton is 5-0 in <=3-point games, plus a nine-point OT win that doesn't strictly qualify.

If we had Meisner and Smith I suspect we would have won 5 or 6 of those games; if we had Smith 4 or 5.

Thanks for researching this. It confirms my intuition and makes me wish even more we were first in a more positive stat.

Even the official CU website has now picked up this thread. Citing KenPom, they say we are now 348th of 353 teams in the country on the stat that measures losses by between 1 and 6 pts.
