Not sure taking the lead up to 20 with a minute to play qualifies.

Unreal.

The Harvard-Yale finish was unreal.
Harvard is down 4. Freshman Kale Katchings, nephew of Tamika, has a drive around Blake Reynolds, then a three from the corner to give Harvard a one point lead. After a defensive stop, Djuricic makes 2 free throws to put Harvard up 3 with 14 seconds remaining.
Harvard elects not to foul. Copeland buries a three to tie it for Yale. Harvard, not taking a time out, gives the ball to Aiken. With Trey Phils in his face, Aiken rises up and puts in the game winner as the buzzer sounds.

The outcome of that game also pretty much nailed shut any chance Penn had of tying Harvard at season's end.
So it's 4th seed or bust. At this point we need to win out and have Cornell lose at least once (not sure what we would need in a tiebreaker there).

Penn Nation (and others):
Don't forget Brown. As of tonight they are tied with Cornell and Brown has Cornell at home next Saturday.

I know, but if Penn beats Brown they win that tiebreaker. It's within Penn's control to beat out Brown--it needs help to beat out Cornell.

6 minutes for Bryce is ridiculous. I’m sorry. Good win but now you may have lost the two freshman that carried you the first half of the year. I just don’t get it.
Harvard off of a big win is MUCH better than Harvard off of 3 straight losses.

It was a near repeat of the Penn game--Yale was up pretty much from the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half, up 7 at the 6 minute mark, 5 minute mark, up 6 with 2:26 to play. Harvard scored 9 straight over the next 2 minutes plus to go ahead 3 with 15 seconds to play.
Whatever luck Penn is not getting down the stretch this year has gone to Harvard.

Extended minutes for Wang tonight and little production. When he is not scoring, he is a liability on the floor. Bryce is 0 for his last 3 games. He is fighting through the freshman wall.
Jerome is a bit of a tazmanian devil out there. Wish he would just stick to shooting 3’s.
Another great game from Silpe. He has really stepped up his game. Dev played great and AJ, despite the turnovers, played really well I thought. We got a lot of stops down the stretch in this game and then executed on the offensive end to extend the lead. That was a nice turn of events for a change.

Wang has zero confidence in his offense right now. Each time he shoots it’s obvious. While his defense must have been the reason he stopped playing, they have now lost his offense too. I’d call that a failed experiment at this point. Yes things changed after the Toledo injury, but he still showed a few offensive sparks. Outside of his tip skills, it’s tough to watch.
As for Bryce, is this really a normal occurrence? We talked about AJ ad nauseum but he played through it and you don’t usually see freshman help to carry a team for 2 months and then totally lose it. Not that the chances were good but we have no chance at all getting nothing from these two the rest of the way. I understand giving Ray minutes and his three point shot looks better than I ever could have hoped but Bryce does things others can’t. We sorely miss it.

I’m not worried about Wang. We should not be surprised, even after his great start, that he is having growing pains. Every reason to believe he will be on the court a lot next year. Washington will have a lot more competition for PT with Betley back, Jelani (we hope) as a factor, and perhaps one of the frosh in the mix. A nice problem for Steve to have. Bryce needs to bulk up a bit and likely will.

I know I agreed with SomeGuy on this point in another thread but count me as someone who thinks Bryce Washington needs to get back to his typical 25-30 mins on the court the next two weeks. We need him out there and hitting shots to keep this season alive.
Absolutely he hit a little frosh wall, but until 2 weeks ago he was one of our most consistent guards all year. He’s still the same player that dropped 20 in an important win at Brown two weeks ago, the same player who basically was the only positive guard on offense in the Cornell loss 3 weeks ago, and the same player who hit a key 3 in overtime to win against Dartmouth a week ago.
For the record, despite his slump, he is still our best 3 point shooter by % (only one over 40%), by volume (his 48 are most on the team), and he is unquestionably the best free throw shooter. Playing him 13 mins all weekend doesn’t make sense unless he has the flu or something. Jake, Dev and Antonio all had rough multi-game stretches but they got the chance to play through.
It’s great that Ray Jerome contributed and played well against Columbia but it was a loss to a 6 win team. Today he was 1-9 for 3 points in 21 mins for an offensive rating of 45...
Meantime Bryce played 6 mins and only got one shot up. That doesn’t cut it in my book. I still haven’t been able to watch it abroad but unless Ray Jerome played defense like Ibby Jaaber, then he wasn’t the reason we won and left a lot to be desired on offense.
This can’t happen the rest of the season - get him back in the starting lineup and show the confidence in him. Okay if this was a message to be better on D, and hope he kills it in practice this week but we need to see him on the court more on Friday.
