The Tigers' remaining schedule is captivating. The Dartmouth game seems like a classic trap game with the temptation being to look beyond them to Harvard, having only won by 1 at home 9 days ago. Assuming we survive that, having the chance to avenge all three league losses to earn at least a share of the league title is the stuff of which great teams and legendary seasons are made.

The Dartmouth game is on Saturday, so the risk is probably more of a “letdown” than a “trap” game.

But I agree with your point that this final sprint through the top of the league will tell us how good this Tiger team really is. They have talent and decent depth, but will need to shoot like they did against Columbia, maintain their active, switching defense and rebounding and play better in the final 5 minutes to have a chance to pull these games out.

What I love about this team is that it has so many ways to beat you. Cannady, Aririguzoh, Stephens and now Schweiger have asserted themselves in different games, which makes this a hard team to defend. Desrosiers has been a steady offensive fallback option, defender and rebounder and Llewelyn has been getting better each week running the team and injecting urgency into the Tiger offense (but is still a somewhat erratic shooter).

We now need this all to come together in the next three weeks with Myles playing the role of Spencer Weisz to provide the x-factor of senior leadership, tenacity, confidence and poise.

Go Tigers!

Oops, you are right, I got my info on the Dartmouth game wrong: the long drive to Hanover is indeed on Friday. On both final weekends the tougher game will be on Saturday (Harvard, then Yale).

This is not a great Princeton team or a legendary season.

Then they won't win out.

Gee, thanks section110 for that authoritative pronouncement.

Teams can come together in March in surprising ways (remember UConn just a few years ago?). You may be right that this won’t be Princeton’s year but the fun for many of us is that we can take a glass-half-full view and then actually see what happens when they play the games. Unfortunately trolling the fans of other Ivy teams is more fun for other posters ...

Princeton is dangerous, but mainly because Cannady might return and hit close to 50% of his 3's and all of his foul shots. If not, then this team is good, but not great. Could be wrong of course, but the Cannady factor is what I'd fear as an opponent. It would be like Aiken or Towns returning and playing to form for Harvard or Betley for Penn.

Liked my comments @ the court proceedings though, I suspect. I'm hoping for Penn to run the table; but I don't think it is realistic that either will do so. Yale is the best team in the league, Harvard has the most talent & Brown & Dartmouth are both dangerous. The tournament is another story altogether. If they get in either Princeton or the Penn team that beat Nova & Temple could readily win the tournament. Would make the season delightful; but wouldn't lead me to say that team was exceptionable.

This team is the first Tiger team in years that has a consistent defensive presence, which is short-term exceptional (and a welcome relief to me). I'm more comfortable rooting for a team that can stay close without shooting the lights out and that is almost guaranteed a solid win if they do shoot well.

Specifically, the first Tiger team in *two* years that has a consistent defensive presence...

Mitch had Jerome on his radio show. The usual amount of coach talk but I find it interesting that Jerome and other prior player guests use the same buzz words and expressions that Mitch uses -- mind conditioning by Mitch?

Mitch talked about how well Schwieger, Jerome, Jaelin and Myles played both games last weekend. He mentioned that the Tigers now have four IL POW and no other team has more than two. He discussed the 12 for 26 point 3 pt shooting on Saturday night which was the best of the year. Hopefully, they do not go 3 pt shooting crazy this weekend.

Discussed upcoming weekend games and both Mitch and Jerome both expressed how they let the Harvard game get away from them at home. Henderson previously stated that they had the opportunity to create seperation several times with a 6 pt lead with less than 8 minutes to go and could not close out the game. He also mentioned Aiken's 4 pt play as a tide changer.

Should be a competitive weekend both nights. For the Tigers to have a chance to win the IL regular season crown, they probably need to win both games.

Are they ready to step up? Time will tell.

We survived the trap game. Time to run the table.

Wow, that’s a leap of faith! I’ll accept the old, “We just take ‘em one at a time”.

They are not mutually exclusive propositions. I'm all for doing both.
