Brown’s defense really was outstanding tonight, particularly down the stretch. Defensive performance to be very proud of.
22 turnovers. And generally not of the forced variety. General offensive ineptitude. I actually don’t credit Penn’s defense as much as it seemed like the moment got to Brown. Lots of high dribbles and shaky hands. They win and make the tournament with only 15 turnovers. They had opportunity after opportunity to close the gap but they weren’t able to make one play. But it’s very tough game to win in a great atmosphere for a college basketball game, and Brown’s not quite there yet.
Amazing Anderson can look like he did last night and then how he did tonight.
Despite the outstanding defense, it was too much Brodeur and Goodman. Goodman especially was first-rate and the difference in the game. Gutty win overall for Penn who struggled and once again didn’t have Wong.
A very strong season overall from Brown, who tied a win record and had some really great wins. Not just good wins, some great ones. But it’s a bummer when you set the school record for wins and still don’t make the top half of the league.
That Columbia loss looms large, which is where the tournament was lost.
They’ll miss Okolie who had become the steady hand in the Ivy season. His defense and offensive dependibility will be missed greatly. He had an absolutely outstanding season and for my money was this team’s MVP. And what a season for Choh. My goodness.

Tough game and congrats on a good season. I like Coach Martin and the team you guys have. Especially glad Cambridge was OK. Was worried about that and that kid is a baller, and a lot of fun to watch.
Hope you guys get to play in one of the alt tournaments and bet you can do some damage.

Per Kenpom, the only Brown player with a 100+ ORtg for the game was David Mitchell, who despite scoring only 1 point managed to not turn the ball over in his 16 minutes.
The TOs being so spread around meant the starters + Anderson were were all between 70 (Choh) and 93 (Howard).
Cambridge (3-5) and Anderson (1-2) were the only ones to manage even 50% on their 2-point FGA.

Do teams in the bottom half of their conferences get invites to postseason tournaments?
Brown finished with one of its best Kenpom ratings ever (sneaking into the top 150 - and yes that’s one of their best ever), but not sure there’s much appetite at that level. That said - MM’s first season yielded a CBI game, and they were just about 150 in the Kenpom.

It would be nice for this group to get another game or more in. They play well together and are kind of fun to watch.

I’d like to see them get in one - and they are at/above .500 in league and well above that full season and that seems to be the cutoff.

There's no more exciting player in the IL than Cambridge. He would be a treat to watch in the post-season.
