This a big game or something?
Hopefully Lehigh’s cold 3pt shooting from the army game carries over. Aren’t their big guys banged up too? Hopefully we take advantage of that and kimbal and Nate have a big day.

All things being equal, shooting ishe key for Bucknell. Make a good % we win; shoot like we did in 4 of last 5 regular season games, we lose.

Shooting has to improve, simple storyline. 33% and 22% from 3 are losing numbers.

What’s with Sestina’s jumpshots lately? He’s really struggling lately.

All in all a good half especially considering the foul trouble. These refs certainly love their whistles.

Having Bruce in there in the second half could be a big boost. Feasted in both games down low when they put Andree on him. Kimbal has been unreal yet again but another option on offense is needed

Great win. Sestina and kimbal carried us. Nice to see Nate’s 3 go down at the end. We’ll need that from him against Colgate. Team seems focused, all of them were saying “1 more†as they came off. Will be a huge challenge up at Colgate but at least we have the experience. Hoping Colgate comes out tight and we come out explosive.

Very entertaining game and a good all around performance. Man are we gonna miss Kimbal and Nate, maybe more than we missed last years seniors, if that is possible. I hope we are shooting well on Wednesday as that is an absolute necessity.

Kimbal will be a great loss as a player, but even more as a leader. As far as I am concerned he is poy. Navy loss cost him that honor IMO. Not in anyway to discredit Ivanauskus, who is terrific.

Interesting comments about Kimbal's leadership ability. Bison63 is absolutely correct. That is what we will miss the most. Hopefully, he has passed some of those lessons along to the rest of the team.

Agree, leadership is huge for any team and Kimbal appears to have “it.†Still, it’s nice to have a leader who also puts he ball through the hoop. Overall defense was good today but a key difference from the losses late in the year was the ball went in more often today. Making shots leads to confidence and confidence leads to better overall play and wins. Love to see a hot team wearing orange and blue Wednesday.

if you are looking for a tv archive, there does not appear to be a repeat on CBSSN. As for audio archive, I suggest you email Doug Birdsong who should be able to help you.

I would interpret that as last year of basketball at Bucknell. I find it hard to believe that he will not play at a bigger school next year.

I told my buddy the same thing yesterday while watching the game. Add on 15-20 lbs, and he could be a VERY good NFL tight end. He certainly would have the size, build, and athletic skills. Also, he seems to play with the passion of a football player. Gronk 2.0 without all of attitude problems.

One of the more entertaining games I have seen in some time. Most of my other points were already made but I did have to comment on the generally "OK" work of the refs. Its been many years since I saw a Patriot League Playoff Game where the refs didn't make up a call or become the game's focus. Not a superhuman effort, but refs ran up and down court well and for the most part made the calls they needed to make. Major upgrade for Patriot League!

Idk, watching in person, the officials made some terrible calls and missed a few obvious ones. The offensive foul on Meeks on a made basket was beyond ridiculous, there was another defensive foul on Meeks that was almost as bad, a major-league carry up near the shoulder by Tejada (I think) right in front of an official....plus the phantom foul call they made and then watched the replay and reversed the call. There will always be bad calls but PL officials have to be among the worst in the nation. Maybe Sunday wasn’t as bad as usual but there were still some head-scratching calls all over the place.

Lehigh Game 03-11-19 04:28 PM - Post#280679

There were definitely some bad calls - but this crew was one of the top ones the PL had all year based on the ref's resumes and other assignments:
- Jose Carrion 104 Pomeroy ranking - reffed AAC Wichita State game the day before.
- Dwayne Gladden 109 Pomeroy ranking - reffed A10 URI game the day before.
- Tony Crisp 163 Pomeroy ranking - also reffed A10 URI game the day before.
Normally for a PL game, Bucknell has been lucky to have one ref ranked in the top 200.
The biggest gripe I had with this crew is that they let Brett Reed totally game them at one point in the final minutes. Specifically there was a tipped ball that nearly went OB, followed by Nate Jones recovering and passing out to Kimbal who recognized the shot clock was down to 5 seconds and passed underneath to Nate for a basket and foul. Reed complained that the shot clock had incorrectly been reset when the ball almost went OB a few seconds earlier, which was total nonsense since it was down to under 3 seconds when Nate scored. Somehow none of the refs had looked at the shot clock at all during the sequence and, even though they were told at the table that it had not been reset, they went to the monitor for a long review, which gave Reed a free timeout to change strategy and institute a press. At that point, he was down to one timeout, so it was a valuable, stolen timeout that the refs should not have allowed to happen. Good strategy by Reed to take advantage of their deficiencies.

a major-league carry up near the shoulder by Tejada (I think) right in front of an official....
I thought this was a great piece of officiating, he acknowledged the complaint and signaled that while the ball was high Tejada's hand was above the ball. I looked back at it at the time and he was right. Not only did he get the call right, he communicated well for all to see the reason why.
As fans we will always complain about officiating, the key is when both fan bases complain about the same refs the same amount, they probably are getting it about right.

Have to say, Jordan Cohen played a hell of a game. The other four Lehigh starters, especially their front court, did not. Cohen had 23 points compared to 28 for the other four combined. He was also a pest on defense and just seemed to be everywhere.

I could not agree more. Cohen is quick, has skills, and plays hard.
