The official attendance number for the Navy vs. Colgate game was 1,089. I am setting the over/under at 1,159.5 for the PL Championship Game. Keeping in mind that this is the "official" number, I am going to take the over and guess 1,279. Any other guesses?
BTW, this is contingent upon there not being a blizzard in Hamilton.
GO BISON!

Without sounding too sarcastic, from looking at the stands while watching TV, that number must have included the concession and law enforcement personnel. Anything over 1000 fans would be a big win for Colgate.

I think it could get up to around 1400 if Bucknell produces the 400 fans I expect.

The TV angles on Sunday only seemed to capture the far bleachers at Colgate. How filled were the bleachers on the near, under-the-camera side?

Do you think the team will practice in Davis Gym to get a better feel for the "barrel vault" ceiling/shooting angles, etc.?
Also, I noticed they switched the court around at Cotterell in the past year or two (I think) with the student section now near the visitors bench (from what I recall the benches used to be reversed in prior years - across from where they are now).

Yes, they used to be on the other side of the court from where they are now. Also they were at the opposite end from where they are now.

Still a shame we couldn’t get one more win the last three weeks of the season....then all of this Cotterell talk would be unnecessary. I cannot attend but I hope the Bison fans will be loud!

So, do the tickets say general admission & not give a section & seat bc they were purchased prior to that information being available?

Just guessing here, but I think the tickets will be general admission but limited to certain sections.

This is a key stat. The Bison need to control the boards which is easier said than done vs. Colgate.
"After getting dominated on the glass in back-to-back games against Boston University and Colgate early in the Patriot League schedule, the Bison have made a concerted effort to improve their rebounding margin. In the 16 games since then, Bucknell is +85 on the boards."

One amazing item is that the Bison last played a Patriot League Tournament game on the road on March 4, 2009! Since then, BU has played its last 22 tourney games at Sojka by virtue of being the higher seed for every game it played. Only twice in the decade since then had the Bison not earned the #1 seed - 2010 when they were seeded 2nd and 2014 when they were seeded 4th.

Keys to the game?
1. Sestina has made a concerted effort not to foul unnecessarily in last two games and it worked. He was around to dominate on defense and on boards. Bucknell will need this again.
2. Usual great all round game and leadership at key moments from MacKenzie is necessary.
3. Then all other elements can more easily fall into place, i.e. Meeks off bench scoring 10, Newman spelling Sestina, Funk scoring from outside for about 12pts, Moore and Toomer playing steady game, etc.
A formula for a win?

Bucknell should play to about 75 percent capacity and leave the other 25 percent to contain a solid mental state going into the game. Colgate certainly is good enough to beat us if they play well, but we could also beat ourselves if we make too many mistakes. That said, Bucknell has the nod nine out of ten times if they play a controlled game anchored by a stable mental attitude. They can't let the cart get ahead of the horse, so to speak. I also think the home court feel will really buoy these guys as four buses and many cars are headed to Hamilton. I hope they can punch a ticket. Good Luck Orange and Blue!!!!

Watching Kimbal the last few games has been very inspiring. He’s a great leader and I think he can put this team on his back and will them to victory tomorrow. The guy is a winner pure and simple. Go Bison!

My keys to the game from the Colgate side:
1. I don't think Colgate wins this game if Burns, who I'd say is the heart and soul of the team, has a cold shooting night. He's averaging just 7.0 PPG on 8-of-31 shooting in his last four.
I know Burns scored 8 on 2-of-12 in Colgate's win over Bucknell, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say Bucknell doesn't shoot 37 percent from the field again.
He's vital to the team's success and has to get going. CU beat Boston because Rayman went off and CU beat Navy because of Jack Ferguson's career performance, IMHO, with Burns struggling. Those teams aren't in Bucknell's class.
I don't think CU can beat Bucknell without a good Burns game sans a rarity like the Bison going that cold again.
2. Gate has these weird stretches where everything seems to go poorly of late. I don't know what it is, but it's happened a few times (12-0 run end of 1st half vs. Lafayette, whole first half vs. Boston really, large chunk of 2nd half vs. Navy). They get out of rhythm on offense (and maybe even lose some focus) and give up too many easy buckets on the other end. I don't want to say they go into cruise control, but it's odd. They won't get away with that vs. Bucknell.
3. Rap needs to stay out of foul trouble. No surprise but he's the biggest reason why Colgate is where it is this year. It's like the Ghostbusters, if there's something strange in the neighborhood, he's the guy you call to save the day. Just so consistent night in/night out, and his inside/out game is tremendous. Also been fantastic on defense lately.
Other smaller factors -- Batt's defense down stretch vs. Navy was excellent, would love to see similar effort vs. Bucknell. Regisford has done well vs. Bucknell this year, does Colgate get something similar out of him again? How will Richardson, the frosh and jack of all trades, handle the spotlight? Can Rayman/Ferguson get hot from deep? No questions about Amiel, he's the cooler on the team, the guy you bring in to calm things down on offense. Best AST-TO ratio on team.
Overall, I'm pretty nervous for this one, but am eternally grateful for the team, its individual players and coach for a really fun season. I don't know any of them personally but they seem like good guys who represent Colgate well.
If CU doesn't win, though, I'll be a Bucknell fan as usual in the tournament.
Good luck to both sides, and regardless of who wins, hope we see a nice PL upset in the tourney.
