It doesn't begin to make sense to suggest that the back-to-backs cause injuries without taking into account that this schedule gives a long recovery time from Saturday to the following Friday. Only Saturday-occurring strain-induced injuries in excess of the reduced strain on Fridays would be evidence of a problem.

And I am still waiting for any reason that the academic rationale for the schedule is no longer operative.

How about being banged up from Friday?
You miss Saturday, or aggravate the injury by playing.

How about reduced injuries because of having a whole week to recover? On a Wednesday/Saturday schedule you only get three days off at a time.

I traveled to 13 games from NYC (not including Columbia). All 3 home weekends. No chance I travel to Cambridge for a single game or 2 games in 3 days. Big fan of the back to backs.

I do have a hotel reservation for Thanksgiving in Orlando.

I personally feel the back to backs are cause of unnecessary injuries.
