As a fan and season ticket holder I am always disappointed in the number of home games and usually, lack of quality home games.

As you likely know, it's been very hard to get teams to come to Sojka. When you have been one of the top midmajors for 15 years, a lot of teams aren't interested. Teams in higher leagues view it as a no-win scenario. It is getting harder and harder to get A-10 level teams to even do a two-for-one with Bucknell.
So one relevant question is would Bison fans rather see a couple more home games if the opponents are going to be teams like NJIT or Norfolk State?

Yes, I would like to see more home games against lesser opponents. Also, I would like to see more local away games in the NYC to DC corridor: Penn, Temple, Rider, NJIT, Rutgers, Princeton, FDU, Monmouth, Drexel, La Salle, Nova, St. Joe's, UMD, UMD Baltimore County, etc.

Of course I like to see the Bison step up to play some better competition, but there has to be a way to have another home game or two. At this time in our lives it is just very difficult to do a lot of traveling to watch Bucknell basketball. Maybe that’s selfish.

Yes, I'd like to see one more home game each year. I know it's unlikely the extra game would be against a good opponent, but I wouldn't mind playing a MEAC school (Howard, Coppin), where they could work out a two-for-one. I don't want too many Bison blowouts - but I wouldn't mind at least one each year.
For reference, here are the home OOC games BU has played each year in the scholarship era, plus the total # of OOC games in parentheses. Prior to PL expansion, they played more total OOC games of course.
2003-04 ( 13 ) Yale , Dickinson , Penn , Ursinus , Cornell
2004-05 ( 14 ) Rider , St. Francis , RMU , Niagara ,
2005-06 ( 13 ) Yale , Villanova , Cornell , Haverford , St. Joes
2006-07 ( 14 ) Wake , No. Iowa * , Towson *
2007-08 ( 15 ) Albany , Marist , St. Francis , LaSalle , Cornell , Ohio
2008-09 ( 14 ) Boston U , ODU * , Wagner , Bing , Drexel , St Bona
2009-10 ( 16 ) St Francis , Cornell , Loyola , Marist , Richmond
2010-11 ( 16 ) Bing , Wagner , Columbia , Boston U , Dartmouth
2011-12 ( 16 ) St Francis , Princeton # , W. Alabama # , Morehead # , Richmond , Loyola , Cornell
2012-13 ( 16 ) GMU , Dartmouth , Kent , LaSalle , Marist
2013-14 ( 11 ) St Francis , Princeton , Columbia , Fairfield
2014-15 ( 13 ) Marist , Mt. St. Mary , PSU , Albany , Case West.
2015-16 ( 11 ) Shenandoah , Wake , Siena , Columbia , Fairfield
2016-17 ( 13 ) Manhattan , RMU , Richmond , Mt. St. Mary , Princeton
2017-18 ( 13 ) Siena , Ball St , Vermont , LaSalle
2018-19 ( 12 ) Fairfield , Canisius , Northeastern , Monmouth
* = bracketbuster game
# = Legends Classic games at Bucknell
Forgetting about Villanova - because that isn't happening again - which would be your top three home OOC schedules?

By the way, how would you like to be one of the dozen or so Boston U season ticket holders? Their complete OOC home schedule is:
1. Northeastern - solid program for past five years.
2. SUNY Poly - very mediocre D3 program based in Utica.
3. New Hampshire - ranked #345 out of 351 last year.
4. Dartmouth - last winning record in Ivy play was 21 years ago.
At least all four home games occur when students are on campus - except that no students attend their games anyway.

Toss up between 11/12 and 12/13. I love the series with Vermont and Northeastern. We may not get many P6 schools to come to Sojka, but playing top flight mid-majors is just a good. How about Radford now that Nate has graduated?

I agree about having good midmajors. If the 2017-18 list had one more game - even against a weak team or a D2 - it would be one of my favorites. The Bison faced Siena , Ball St , Vermont , and LaSalle. Only four games but a very interesting group.
Your suggestion of a series with Radford is a good one.

If 06-07 had another home game that would be a good choice but I also liked 11-12.

Agree. The 2006-07 year showed how hard it is for a really good midmajor to get home games. Two of the three OOC games (UNI and Towson) were bracketbuster games, and the third game (Wake) was due to the special relationship of Skip Prosser with the Bison staff.
One series that ended around that time, apparently due to the Bison getting too good, was the long-time one with St. Francis. Prior to 2005-06, the two teams had played for 12 consecutive years. For geographic reasons, it would make sense to resurrect the series with SFU and/or with Mt. St. Mary's. Those are two of the three closest OOC schools to Bucknell.

Who do you have as the third? Cornell? Towson? It might even be Binghamton if you take the back roads.

It was pretty easy to Google Map D1 Basketball Schools:

In addition to the Philly schools, Mt. St. Mary's, St. Bonnie's, and Cornell are close.

I'm good with mixing in nearby schools, but I don't like having a protracted series with anybody out of conference. I was relieved when the Cornell and St Francis repetition came to a halt.

Yes, actually should be #5 and #6 on my list, with Coppin being 154 minutes away and Morgan State 158 minutes away. On the NCAA map of D1 schools, they were obscured in a pack of Baltimore schools headed by Loyola.

That will be a tough game. Hofstra won the CAA regular season title with a 15-3 record last year, and they went 25-6 overall. Graduated two very good players but return four of their top six.
As most of you know, there are a few Bucknell connections to Hofstra. For one, Jay Wright was the head coach there for seven years and is in the Hofstra HOF. He inherited a weak team and rebuilt it into teams that went 14-4, 16-2, and 16-2 in conference play their last three years.
Secondly, Bucknell and Hofstra were members of the same conference for over 20 years: The MAC from 1969-74, and the ECC from 1974-90. They didn't play as often as you might think, however, since Hofstra was in the East Division for many of those years and normally played the Bison only once per year. In total they have met 29 times.
One other bit of trivia. Prior to Joe Mihalich moving over from Niagara to take the Hofstra job, their head coach was Mo Cassara - now the frequent color man for PL broadcasts. Cassara all but destroyed the program before he was fired after his third year.
