BU RPI rank dropped from #34 to #42 with the win at Army last night. And wait 'til the home game with them. At least no more games left with Navy, plus the UNI game to help.

Ouch, that is quite a drop. Luckily UNI's RPI only dropped one spot from 13 to 14 with the loss to Creighton. I think playing at Creighton with their RPI made the loss less costly in terms of impact on RPI. Of course it'll probably mean we drop out of the Top 25 this week.

Here's the official NCAA RPI if you guys haven't seen it yet (only updated weekly however): http://web1.ncaa.org/app_data/weeklyrpi/rpi1.html

Ken Pomeroy's RPI computation, which is said to be essentially the same as the NCAA RPI and updated more frequently is here: http://www.kenpom.com/rpi.php

Pomeroy's blog today also points out a number of errors made by the NCAA in categorizing home and road teams. For example, Georgetown vs Colgate played at El Paso is a Georgetown home game according to the NCAA. I assume they will correct that one. However, there are a number of closer situations that require some judgement and the NCAA has failed the test in a few instances. For example, Duke and Wake Forest both got to count games in the Greensboro Coliseum against mid-major teams as road games even though I'm sure the majority of the fans were rooting for the ACC teams. Duke doesn't need the help but Wake may.

depaul has a nice losing streak, too (also six games). and check out boston universitys last two. ugly.

anyway, i updated my projections today... assuming they make it to the pl final, rpi followed by approximate rank:

Win out (26-3): 0.5919, 30th
Road Loss: 0.5857, 34th
Home Loss: 0.5804, 40th
Two Road Losses: 0.5792: 41st
Home and Road Losses: 0.5741, 46th
The Bracket Bustin' Bison are Back!

Okay. First round streak BACK ON!
