Official box score lists attendance at 2218
Judging from the lines to buy tickets at after the game had started, they sold more than that at the gate. There were more than 2000 Army traveling fans there.
Let's say the North lower stands seat 10,000. They were at least half full with all but the last 5 rows occupied from 30-30 and then some.

Forgive my ignorance. Why is the game in East Hartford?

Because Yale whined about home court advantage always going to Penn.....no just kidding.
They assign the 2nd round sites in advance (1st round at campus sites). Last year, they played the 2nd round at Hofstra and Navy.

Never heard of the place before this. Built in 2003 as a home for UConn FBS football (30 miles from campus.) Seats 40,000. Easy to get to though. 3.5 Hours from here. 40 minutes from Yale.
Apparently it is struggling financially. Temple football boosters take note.

Temple is talking about an on-campus stadium, so the financial performance of this place (which reminds me of Talem Energy Stadium in Chester, built as an economy booster in a depressed area) is not necessarily a predictor for Temple. However, UConn also has completely gone down the tubes in the AAC in football AND basketball. They are an orphan team up there in that conference.

They should just bring back the old Yankee Conference so UConn and Rutgers can go there along with half the CAA, Umass, and army/navy

Seriously. UMass is another program that has fallen into the abyss and disappeared, basketball-wise.

Getting back to lacrosse, it's interesting that both Penn and Yale's games on Saturday followed a similar pattern in that both went out to a large lead in the first quarter (Penn 5-0, Yale 7-1) and both ended up winning by a smaller margin (Penn 10-6, Yale 19-16), i.e., both were out-scored for over 75% of their games, despite both teams' dominance of the face-offs.
In Penn's case, it happened primarily because of Army's relentless and very aggressive man-to-man defense all over the field which resulted in 23 Penn turnovers, by far a season high, and that doesn't include the numerous bobbles and dropped balls that hampered Penn's offense,
In Yale's case, it exposed its sometimes shaky close-in defense that has appeared at times during the season, but never for such an extended period.
For whatever it's worth, Inside Lacrosse Magazine's computer prediction is 20-13 Yale. It's a surprisingly large margin and I guess it's because the prediction primarily is based on seasonal run-differential which is decidedly in Yale's favor at 79 compared to Penn's 53.
We'll find out at Noon on Sunday

The Penn score was 13-8 which is the same 5 goal margin they ended the first quarter with. Lacrosse is a game of runs and Army did tighten the game up at times; but, Penn responded.
They were very sloppy and maybe the weather had something to do with it. 23 TO's is not going to win on Saturday. I think this game will be a classic with goalie play and the x determining who prevails, but it's a funny game. Sometimes the result is very different than what you might expect.

I agree on all of your points except the comment about the weather. Saturday was an ideal spring afternoon with warm temperatures and abundant sunshine. Between 40 minute walks to and from Franklin Field and a couple hours seated in the north stands, I picked up a slight sunburn on my face. It did get a bit overcast by game time, but weather was no factor. The only external issue that may have contributed to Penn's sloppy play was the weird 5:00 pm start time. Much of the game was played in that in-between twilight when the sunshine was fading and the floodlights didn't really take effect. I commented on that throughout the second half, which Army basically won. (We scored an empty net goal in the final moments.) I think Army's aggressive defense was the main reason for our high turnover rate.

Wow, the other side of the Final Four bracket is set. Both Virginia and Duke survived OT games against underdog opponents Maryland and Notre Dame. The Terps led by 5 in the fourth before Viriginia closed out a 6-0 run including OT. ND came from behind, took a one goal lead, gave up an equalizer, and then had the last shot in regulation. Duke won in OT on a slow, weak bouncer that the ND goalie whiffed on.
If tomorrow's Penn-Yale #3 follows this pattern (or even replicates Penn-Yale #1 and #2, it will be an excruciating afternoon. I'd love to see a Penn-Duke final, but that's really getting ahead of myself.

Of course Lyle doesn’t mention that Maryland did not “give up†the tying goal. It was “given†to UVA by the refs on a shot that hit the crossbar and never went in. The UVA players new it didn’t go in and chased the rebound. The UVA coach showed no class at all when asked about it after the game. I’m no UVA lacrosse fan but that was a travesty.

This one completely lived up to the hype. It was epic. That rally to tie it up at the end was amazing. One of those games neither team should lose. It’s a damn shame this game happened this weekend instead of next.

Yes, it was epic, sort of like Ali-Frazier III except it wasn't a tiebreaker. It reminded me more of #1 at Franklin Field than #2 - the ILT final at Columbia. Yale seemed to be slightly better on balance, but there were many ties and a few lead changes. Our last second equalizer to force OT was very much like how we sent #1 into extra time. When we absorbed Yale's initial OT possession and had a chance of our own, I thought we'd steal it but didn't get a good shot. When we got them down to the final seconds of the shot clock on their next possession, I thought we'd get a second crack at it, but Junkin couldn't come up with the big save, which he did several times including in the final minute of regulation. Sam Handley was also out of sync all game, which took away one of our main weapons.
It's a travesty that two legitimate championship caliber teams were forced to meet this early in the tournament. Both should be coming to Philly for Memorial Day Weekend. This is a real tough loss to get over - I hope it doesn't take away from this team's remarkable accomplishments this year.
