Good to hear. Thought he got a really raw deal at Dartmouth after coaching his butt off and recruiting some guys that Dartmouth usually cannot get.

Can't help but wonder if Dartmouth would have won a few more close games last season if Cormier was there to pull some rabbits out of his hat.
Actually, it's almost a certainty that he would have done so.

Agreed. I always thought he was the coach Penn should have poached if they were going to poach another Ivy coach.

Put another way...
Cormier's the coach
That Penn should poach
If Penn could poach
A coach

Thanks for sharing this good news. I think Dartmouth can still claim him and whatever success he has at Umass as a feather in our cap. He cut his teeth here and served 13 years.
People talk about his first tenure as being more successful than his second which is probably true as they were on the verge of winning the league in the era of the Ps for two straight years, but on round 2 he inherited our traditionally unsuccessful program at arguably its worst point ever, ranked #341 in kenpom. With his first recruiting class, they peaked at #154 and ended that year at #168. That is serious progress, especially to those of us who really understand where the program was.
If he can help Umass orchestrate a similar rebound they will be back in the top 50 mix and maybe even beating Harvard again.
Good for Paul.
