Well if a player gains 50 lbs, against coaches wishes, in the time he accepts a scholarship till he reports to college...that seems to be a severe lack of judgement, a slap in the face of those that just offered you a scholarship. Hopefully he rebounds and has a great academic and athletic career.

Yeah! That’s a ton of weight gain so I think his listed weight is a mistake. If it’s not, then I’d pursue any legal/rules option to void the scholarship. And if a kid gains that much weight back after losing it? I’m not sure we won’t that circus and those monkeys.

Is it possible that Timmerman had some sort of injury over the summer that effected his ability to workout and keep off the weight?

I'm inclined to think that current weight is wrong. I've seen Timmerman, though only from a distance, and he doesn't look overweight or anywhere near 300 lbs.

If you look at his roster headshot, it doesn't look like someone who is overweight (i.e. bloated).
