Solid incoming class without a proven superstar, but with five excellent players. All of the incoming players appear to have the opportunity to make an immediate impact, but Eddie Turner is clearly in the best position as he is almost certain to see playing time immediately behind Mike Smith at point guard. Incidentally, one might very well consider the 6'11" senior transfer, Joseph Smoyer, to be part of this year's incoming class, given that he was ineligible to play last year. If all the key players stay healthy and work hard, this could be a good year for Columbia Basketball.

It's a good, though not exceptional, class. We will need someone to blossom under coach's instruction for it to really stand out. Forest, Turner, and Onuama are probably the most likely candidates, though the latter is probably a longer-term project.

Not sure what to make of Smoyer; a one year player for us who really did not show anything at his prior stop. I have heard very good things about the wing from Episcopal High School in Alexandria from somebody who has seen him plat; excellent there with a lot of upside.

Smoyer needed to develop, and some of that development occurred last year. My understanding is that he can shoot 3s well for a 6'11" guy, but is not a terribly strong rebounder. He, Brumant/Nweke, and Tape would make quite the front line.
