He is a 6-2 SG from Malvern Prep. Also had offers from La Salle, Lehigh, Robert Morris, and Loyola. Maybe some others.
Was 1st team 5A all-state in PA this past year. It's a bit puzzling why he only has picked up one reported offer since January. He doesn't appear to have a twitter account, so it is possible there were others that were not reported.

Deuce Turner commits to the Bison 08-01-19 12:55 PM - Post#286592

Two more items:
1. Can't find many stats, but he averaged 26.5 ppg as a junior and 20.5 ppg as a soph.
2. He played AAU for Team Final in April but missed all of their games in May and July. Might be injury-related but he played in a HS team event in June. Maybe a switch in AAU teams?

Thanks for that. I now feel better about his offer list. Putting the two lists together, his offers are St. Joes, La Salle, Lehigh, Delaware, RMU, Mt. St. Mary's, Hartford, and Loyola. And Bucknell of course.
Given his lack of a personal twitter feed and the fact that Verbal Commits missed five of his nine known offers, it wouldn't surprise me if there were more offers out there as well.

There is a lot of info on Turner in the bottom part of the article linked by JDBison: https://www.philadelphiasportsdigest.com/news_arti...
Excerpt:
"When watching Deuce Turner, one thing immediately jumps out: he can score early and often. He’s been doing it since he came into Malvern Prep as a freshman and was inserted into the Friars starting lineup. He’s only continued to increase his scoring output and he became the first junior in Inter-Ac history to surpass 1,500 career points in three seasons. He scored a school-record 48 points against Bishop Shanahan as a sophomore then avg. 26.6 ppg this season."

26.6 points per game is a ton of points. I'd love to know if they are fast break points, three pointers, etc. According to Wikipedia, there are 102 high schools in 5A. So, to be 1st team All-State is a pretty big deal.

Looks like a strong, slasher who takes the ball hard to the rim. Nice crossover. Shows some range in this highlight film:

BTW, doesn't look 6'-2". My eyes tell me that he is 6'-0", but he might have grown.

Possibly. The video is in a game against Philly power Neumann-Goretti in January of 2019. If you want to try to compare heights, the player trying to guard him on many of the plays is Christian Ings, who was also listed at 6-2. Ings, btw, had offers from schools such as La Salle, Stony Brook, Siena, etc, and ended up at Rider.

Looking a little deeper, I see he played two games for a different AAU team, PhillyPride, in a Georgia tournament in July. I don't know how good the competition level was, but his stats were impressive:
46 minutes
43 points
8-11 on twos
6-13 on threes
9-10 on FTs
3 rebounds
7 assists
He also played games for them in May and June. Here is a video from May where he discusses changing teams:

Turner made the 5-player Philly All-City team, which includes many suburban players, as a junior. The other four had already committed to La Salle, St. Joes, Maryland, and Miami (FL). He was the only junior on the first team.

I have seen Turner's height listed as anything from 6-0 to 6-2 in various articles over the last year. In the post above, I mentioned him playing against Christian Ings, who was listed at 6-2 on his HS roster and is also listed at 6-2 on this year's Rider roster. Here is a picture of the two side-by-side immediately after the game. Turner doesn't look shorter fwiw.

My first reaction in seeing this post was WOW! I have seen Deuce play several times over the past 3 years and he is lightning fast. He also seems fearless in his play, as I saw him in both home and away games in the Inter-Ac League. I am excited to have Deuce on board as a Bison.
I saw the Inter-Ac championship game late this winter with Malvern at home vs. Haverford School. Deuce started off slow, and then got hot including a couple of step back 3 pointers. He can shoot from the outside and slash to the basket.
Haverford (which finished unbeaten in the league) put St. Joe recruit Christian Ray on Deuce to slow him down, and Ray is a very good defender at 6-5 or 6-6. Deuce took it as a challenge and went at Ray, drawing a couple of fouls.
He will really do well with our up tempo offense and score. Exciting player. I would say 6-1.

Not only did Haverford finish unbeaten in league play, they didn't lose any games at all, ending up at 23-0. As you know, another player for them was Jameer Nelson Jr. Deuce Turner ended up with a team-leading 21 points in that game.
In the other game between the two teams, Haverford won in OT as Ray got 36 points. Turner got 25 in that game for Malvern.

Another interesting game for Malvern Prep was right at the end of December when they beat Philly power Neuman-Goretti, which rostered three players heading to D1 schools (St. Joes, Rider, and maybe Bing). Below is a link to the video of that entire game. Deuce started slow but ended up with 37 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, as Malvern came from almost 20 points back to win 70-69. Turner is actually their second tallest starter and spend large parts of the game guarding a 6-5 senior forward who is heading for St. Joes.

Looks like he has very good scoring potential, size does not bother me! Kimbal, who was a much less gifted athlete, may only have been 5'10" and Burns at Colgate who gave Tennessee 30 is not much taller than that...To be an all-league player he'll have to be committed to defending and be able to make plays for others which I did not see a lot of in his videos but sometimes it can be difficult to really know in short highlight tapes.

awesome, i really like this pickup, and am relieved to see us get a good commit in the books. think we really needed at least one guy who has a serious scoring mentality in this class.
thanks to B137 for all the digging for info, and Doktore K for the scouting report.

Speaking of scouting reports, I happened to see one on Turner from a La Salle fan who follows Philly HS ball closely. This was from a January 2018 game Malvern Prep played vs Germantown Academy:
"Deuce Turner (6-2) from Malvern is another talented guard. Malvern plays four guards and one 6-6 big (Fran Oschell 2021 with 23). Turner is one of the wing guards but has the skill set to handle the point. MP has a fine lead guard in Rahdir Hicks.
Deuce had 24 points in basically three quarters because the outcome was never in doubt. What I found interesting is that Turner must have had 6 layups before he took an outside shot. He slashed to the basket, took a couple of long passes and a back door cut. In the third quarter, I was still waiting for him to show off his jumper. I didn't have to wait long. He stroked a three which hit nothing but net. Nice. Next time down he pulls up straight on from NBA distance and does the same thing. Impressive."
La Salle was one of the schools recruiting him.

That made for good off-season entertainment, thanks. In the second half, you can see Bucknell assistant Joe Meehan under the bleachers behind the far basket.
