Kyle Smith and Wazzu came in with an offer late. His brother is at Dartmouth.

I am puzzled at this one. He's listed as 6-0 and 150lbs. He's unrated by most services. His video looks competent but not amazing. He doesn't appear to have enough strength to be a top Ivy caliber player. My first impression was that he might be an AI admit.

That said, he seems to be averaging 30ppg and scoring about half of his team's points. That is very impressive.

I'm trying to think of who reminds me of. Patrick Lucas Perry?

He avereaged 32 ppg last year shooting 50% from 3. He just added a late offer from Washington State and was reported to have 25 offers. Not sure what his role will be but could be a shooter/scorer off the bench?

A guy who can really shoot always is welcome. We could have used someone with those numbers last year, for sure.

Bryce Aiken was listed at 5-9 150 pounds at this stage of his high school career. I doubt this player plays at 150 lbs and he may end up a few inches taller. There's no certainty about that 2nd point but his brother is 6'5".

I think Donahue sees somebody who can compete and play well at our level. He clearly wasn't going to be offered by North Carolina or Kentucky but a bunch of other college coaches who saw him play seem to agree with Steve.

Now for the crucial question: How does he pronounce his last name?

I just can't picture being 150 lbs in the league anymore, unless you have an Ibby Jaaber type of wiry strength or Allen Iverson quickness.

Maybe this makes more sense in the world of Donahue's position-less guards. As many have pointed out, we sure could use some shooters.

I'm thinking he could have succeeded in any year's Ivy.

Well, he won an NBA slam dunk contest at 5' 7". He transcended his height, and was probably a bit of a freak of nature.

Yes. To succeed in the Ivy, a really normal-sized guy has to have incredible skills.

Henry Brooks!

Still trying to forget him and that whole Allen nightmare.

If Kyle Smith liked this guy, it is good enough for me.

This.

He can shoot from range, looks to have nice fluid mechanics, and also seems to be athletic enough. What's the downside here?

Plus Kyle Smith knows talent so if he was in then we're in good company.

The kid was the leading scorer on a top tier Under Armour circuit team that finished 9-5 against some of the best players in the country. He averaged 14 ppg,2.2 apg, 1.1 A/TO, shot 55% from 3 and made 90% of his free throws.

We can use this kid for sure and his abilities are more quantifiable than most recruits. The UAA circuit, along with Nike's EYBL are the top AAU platforms around. Most of the highlights are from this summer w Under Armour.

I would bet he can play in the Ivy League no problem.

Yeah based on:

- Being a top performer on his HS team in CA
- Playing for a top AAU team and putting up good numbers
- Having 25 offers including PAC12 offer to Washington State and Kyle Smith
- It’s duplicate Kyle Smith really does have a great eye for talent, so worth mentioning 2X.

This looks like a very good thing pickup. I do find it interesting though that we have 2X 2020 PG commitments. Just hope this doesn’t rule out Jamal Mashburn Jr.!
