Here is my question: Adlesh was a good but not great Ivy player—tough as nails, excellent three point shooter, etc. So how is it that he goes to a power conference team and in a matter of weeks becomes captain? Did we miss out on aspects of his game which have impressed the new coaches at USC? Or was it just a case in which he was never put in a position in which all of his talents were put to best use?

It is possible that USC and Andy Enfield see something different than Columbia and Jim Engles. However, I would think that Adlesh being named captain is a testament to his character and maturity.

Similarly, Kyle Castlin was named captain at Xavier last year.
