Ken Z is correct on the two missing names. The Bison who played HS ball in MA is Brian Fitzpatrick, who did a PG year at Northfield Mount Hermon before heading off to Penn, followed by a transfer to Bucknell. The missing CT player is Donald Brown, who did a PG year at St. Thomas More. While there, his coach was Jere Quinn, the father of Matt Quinn, who was a part-time starter for the Bison before graduating in 2004. Jere Quinn, btw, has won over 1000 games during his tenure.

Is the wider recruiting net a function of scholarships or a function of name recognition following Kansas? The time frame is similar so it would be hard to scientifically peg cause and effect here.

Probably a combination, but I am fairly sure a lot of it is due scholarships plus a bigger recruiting budget. Coaches in recent years have more of a budget to travel to tournaments, high school workouts, etc in far-off places. It is unlikely that you saw many Bison coaches in Texas, California, Georgia, etc 20+ years ago.
