Josh, Great write up! thanks for putting it together!

Interesting that Mark Jackson is clearly in the mix as they figure out what's the best lineup. It seems Steve's trying to figure out if he should play AJ and 4 perimeter guys or 2 bigs w AJ at the 4. All of that likely depends on the who he believes are his best 5-7 guys.

Hi, I am a new supporter to CoBL.

If you're reading this, I know two things about you:

1. You have no life.
2. I'm cheaper than you.

Therefore, you have zero excuse not to buck up 3 bucks a month. It took me approximately 2.5 minutes and I'm a slow typer of credit card numbers. Support Josh. Now. Go.

Last time I think I was the one who spoiled Josh's mood by asking about a trial. I reeeeaaally hate subscriptions. Still, I won't make that mistake again. $3 - I'm in too. Thanks Jeff2SF for the rallying cry.

Thanks, all. I promise this all means a ton. And I know it's not the most tangible benefit, and it's not perhaps something that Penn sees the benefits of, but the area's Division II and Division III rosters are FILLED with kids who got exposure from CoBL. I get one or two messages a week from a parent or player who's currently in college about how much CoBL helped them get where they are, and their college coach found them because of us, etc. So you're supporting this content, for one, but it really does make a difference.

Good job guys. I hate subs too. I think this is my first since a newspaper sub a decade ago. But we can pay 36 a year for some Penn content.

If you have paypal or a Patreon sub it will take you less than a minute to sign up.

My interest in Josh's work is mainly about Penn and the fact that he is the only one calling around for info and doing research. The DP and Inquirer don't seem to be doing that anymore.

I never thought about the kids getting exposure, but I guess that's a good thing too.

Oh, right! That's very cool. I doubt I'll be traveling much if at all this season, between my two main jobs and all of that. Plus, we always have family in from out-of-town for Thanksgiving week. But I'll probably find a way to watch it on TV!

Also, there are still 3-5 more penn guys I think on this board that should ante up. You all know who you are.

I was about to say it's a no brainer for the Philly 6 coaching staffs to subscribe, but I wonder if they actually prefer this stuff to be in the dark. more arbitrage opportunity. but come on, Steve, it's 3 bucks a month.

Josh, it's exciting that you're relaunching the site and I've subscribed on Patreon. I just wanted to remind you to take it slowly. I didn't subscribe to put pressure of a certain number of articles per week. Just to put someone who cares about Philly basketball in the hunt. I'll live vicariously through your work. If you are very active on this newsgroup, and do some independent research, that is enough for me. Everything else is upside!

Thank you! Don't worry, I'm in a much better place with my work-life balance, and I don't feel like I have to be churning out two articles a day or anything like that. I think I have a pretty good plan in place to get some regular content on the site, and it should keep growing as the supporters/subscriptions grow.

Josh is at 85 subscribers. I know we're but a small part of that and that Josh has the other subs from all the work he's done at other schools, but still, glad we're doing our part. I want to see triple digits before the first game.

I, too, would like to see triple digits, haha. But seriously, the push from this board has been AMAZING. There's gotta be at least 20 Penn folks in the mix. That is immensely appreciated.

Can you write a story on Penn with each paragraph starting with a letter such that they end up with "Tigers Suck"?

While such an acrostic would be nice, in the meantime "Duquesne 94-Princeton 67" says it just fine. Oh, and the Tigers led by 5 at the half...

Let's not let one good out of conference win go to our heads. Remember what happened on successive weekends last January.

We beat Nova again this year, then we can talk.

We are deeper this year than last. And have much more offensive firepower.

We will not go 27-0, however. One game at a time.

Yeah... definitely one game at a time. A great start, but its only that... a start. We had a great out of conference performance last year and a decidedly mediocre performance in league, so A LOT of work left.

Also hoping some of the injured guys will get back healthy enough to contribute soon.

Any confirmation yet on Jonah Charles timeline? Shame as we could use that one more sniper because shooting from 3 was still less than ideal.

First off, tigers suck is evergreen. doesn't matter how we're doing.

second, that's so funny, I saw the halftime score and didn't give it any mind since then - I assumed they won. Finding out they lost by 27 points is like finding money in my jacket

Finally, while Princeton sucks is more appropriate, this is 2019. I can't read a story with that many paragraphs, I'll lose interest. Long form journalism is dead.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have some fun with that one last night. I actually watched the end of the first half and figured Princeton would keep it close throughout. Tuning in at the end to hear the announcers raving about the most points scored was quite fun. a 57-point half? Ouch.

At the end of last season we somehow got acceptable shooting from overall, even though I never felt comfortable with the likes of Woods, Silpe, Donahue and Goodman taking threes. Our only pure shooters had injuries during the season (Wang and Betley). Washington was the only one I really wanted to shoot threes, even though his shot looked a bit flat.

This year, Eddie Scott looks much more comfortable shooting this year, and so does Goodman. I think Wang and Washington were already good shooters. Betley looks like he'll be good. Dingle looks good taking a spot-up three. I suspect I'll feel comfortable with Martz and Charles shooting. It will be much easier to put the ball in the hoop!
