A few Ivy players have been mentioned in preseason award lists.

Harvard's Bryce Aiken is one of 20 point guards on the list for the Bob Cousy Award.

Harvard's Seth Towns is one of 20 small forwards on the list for the Julius Erving Award.

Princeton's Bella Alarie and Penn's Eleah Parker are two of the 20 power forwards on the list for the Katrina McClain Award.

Last year, Alarie was on the preseason McClain Award list and made it to the 10 player list during the season. She missed out when the list of finalists was trimmed to 5 in March.

It will be interesting to see what heights Bella can reach this year assuming that she remains healthy. As always, team success always helps individual players. Pan Am games suggested that she needs to play more aggressively against big time competition although it may have been a role that was assigned to her.

One of her greatest strengths is that she is a team player but it also can be a drawback against the best competition when the best player on a team needs to take over. Hopefully, the new coach gives her the green light.

I believe less than 10 college women players have dunked in a collegiate game. When she was injured last year, she practiced dunking a volley ball with left hand and not a major problem. It would be nice if she joined the crowd and received some notoriety.
