Brandon Anderson was over the top, 32 points (taking him over 1000 for a career),4-9 from 3, 5 assists and 4 steals. Choh had a double/double and and Hunsaker, DeWolf and Mitchel contributed. Too many TOs , but a win over an athletic, but great opponent.

Anderson so good. One of his best games as a Bear, and the reason they won. That’s a big time game right there. Showing that he’s the #1 option thus far. Ugly game except for Anderson’s performance against a team they need to beat more easily, but they are still very early in learning to play without Obi and Cambridge. I like seeing DoWolf contribute - he’s gotten better (and hit a 3!)
Good to see Friday in uniform. Saw Gainey is now out. But no sign of GMK on the bench.

Anderson looks primed for a great senior season. He was all over the floor and the stat sheet. He seemed to glide around the court. When he is hitting is shots, especially 3’s, he draws his defender and then can drive past him for a better shot or dish to a teammate. He’s developing into quite a threat with the ball. Good movement in Martin’s offense creates lots of decent opportunities inside and out. DeWolf & Howard each looked comfortable inside and outside. Canisius was a tall team and needed to be drawn away from the basket to open up interior. Hunsacker, like Anderson, can drive by his defender after he hits some outside shots. Choh plays real hard every minute he is on the court. Two double-doubles to open the season. Cowan looks heavier than in his HS videos. Maybe he bulked up for college ball. Known as someone who likes to play tough D. He also was a scorer, and hit a nice 3. It was great to see Friday dressed and ready to get his season started. He adds a dimension of strength and athleticism the team needs. He will create space for himself with is bulk and bolster the interior offense. Definitely carries a swagger and confidence to his court presence. And that is just in lay-ups and shoot around. Much like Dez did. Only he is about 30 pounds stronger. Can’t wait to see him and GMK integrated into the lineup. We should have a strong core of 9 that will keep us competitive against most all teams on the schedule. Go Bears!!!
