Glad to have Ivy-like doubleheader in DC. Can’t make California next week for another doubleheader, but arrived in DC this morning. Meeting up with HARVARDDADGRAD at GW.

Looks like they have 5 players in double digits, but not much after that. Shoot FTs well, but low 3 pt %.

2 games that really should be won. GW handled Howard earlier in year.

Good to see you 84. Nice win. Chris Lewis looked great. Only 6TO’s! Made last 15 FT’s

Need to make 3’s though

Harvard depth evident: 28-2 bench points

Played inside out today perhaps by necessity. Great game from Lewis.

Bassey looks very uncomfortable offensively, almost tentative.

Rio continues to step up when needed. Baker was also all over the place.

Hopefully, Bryce was just being rested the last 12 minutes. Always hold my breath when he goes down.

(Incidentally there were some details given on Seth's injury during the broadcast at a level I haven't heard before.)

(My older son and I are making the west coast road trip. It was this one or that one.)

What did they say about Seth? And how hard did Bryce go down?

I was told Bryce is ok - sounded like a sprained ankle.

Very interested in what was said about Seth.

Outshot 11 makes to 2 (both Haskett) from 3 but still took control.

It’s public guys. They said he is recovering from microfracture surgery. I had heard that was the injury but didn’t know he had surgery. Now none of that might be true, it’s just what the announcers on ESPN+ said.

Cats out of the bag now.

The announcer said he had microfracture surgery. So that is the Oden comparison.

Again - this is why I've been trying to tell everyone all along that this isn't the team trying to play a coy game by saying they were hopeful but there was no defined timetable. That's because the timetable for this type of injury ranged from having him back playing to start the 18-19 season to presumably the extreme possibility of never playing again.

Then, there's the piece about needing to understand how the Ivy League works and approaches student-athlete health versus, say, a professional organization or even top D1 schools.

All told, aside from divulging the exact nature of the knee injury, they've provided pretty honest updates the whole way along. It's just not a simple injury with a defined timetable and recovery like, say, an ACL would have been.

Sorry, Mike.

You do a lot of tremendous things for this board but consistently being a defender of whatever Harvard does is a rare exception to this rule.

Harvard has been consistently and unusually silent about the status of its players who aren’t playing.

We seriously had to find out during a telecast that one of its star players had surgery? Cmon.

Given the growing legality of college sports wagering, I have been an advocate of college coaches being given the same obligation as their professional counterparts, and having to release a public injury report prior to each game.

I would argue that if people knew the nature of the injury, the uncertainty with that is understood given the players with a history of that injury. Transparency is always a better way to go IMO.

Another candidate for worst half of the season, as the Crimson are tied at 31 with Howard.

It was very ugly in person. Turnoverpalooza in 1st half with Aiken out. Many lazy long passes.

OOC 3 pt shooting reminiscent of last year, but worse. Haskett regressing to mean.

Forbes did a nice job and great to see Catchings hit a 3 within seconds of seeing his first action of year.

Lewis sat a lot despite being able to score at will.

Juzang and Bassey having terrible offensive years. Don’t know the extent of any injuries.

Sakota handled ball well when he was in game.

Lot of tough offensive foul calls (Ledlum and Kirkwood). Think they were off by just a little and expect they will get some of these calls as season progresses.

Need to step it up in California.

Should Penn be worried? They play at Howard next Monday.
