The first D1 win in nearly three months deserves a topic of its own. The defense was much better, though I don't how much of that was Cornell's D, or just the Lions playing poorly. Probably some of both.

I've been down on Knapp, so he deserves a compliment for hitting double figure scoring for the first time in his career. In fairness, his offensive game has been better over the last month.

No minutes for Jones or Dickson, but it worked.

The defense, in particular that of Knapp and Dolan was a big reason Cornell came out on top. I believe that Smith came in as the leading scorer in the league and they made him work for every point, he was 5 of 23 from the field and Knapp pestered him for big stretches of the game. Dolan covered him as well and was able to stay in front of him for the most part. With Knapp on Smith and Dolan on Forrest (who had 25 in the first game), Columbia could not get anything going in the second half. Overall, a good win for Cornell.

Agreed. A good defensive effort on Smith.

It certainly helped that Forrest got 2 quick fouls and sat for most of the 1st half.
