Line drifting back up this morning to 5-5 1/2.

O/U @ 132 1/2 indicates the punters expect a low scoring affair.

I would love to see a good crushing of the Big Green, but would be content with any win. Must protect home court and win the non-Harvard, non-Yale games to have a decent record.

Schwieger had his best game of his first 2 seasons last year in the OT win @Dartmouth, and he went to the line 11 times in that game. Will be interesting to see who guards him for Dartmouth tonight, and whether or not he's able to find his mismatches. Llewellyn also had 2 of his better IL games last season in the 2 games against Dartmouth. Would be really fun to see a big scoring game from him tonight.

Dartmouth gives up a lot of 3s; their opponents' 3PA Rate is 44.5%, 334th in the country, and by far the highest in the IL and the highest on Princeton's schedule. Should be a night where Friberg, Wright, Morales, Desrosiers should be able to find some looks from 3

I'm hoping Bagin and O'Connell continue their torrid 3-point shooting! In other words, I hope it is a blowout and they get PT at the end. I can hope, can't I?

Given our hopes and expectations, we have set the bar high for tonight’s game. May we not be disappointed.🐅☹️ Eight games into this season I was ready to write it off.

Dartmouth up 7-5 at the U16. Evbuomwan lost Foye to give up an open 3, but pretty even so far. Wright stays hot with a kick out 3. Tigers struggling to finish down low early a little

Knotted at 14 at the U12. Desrosiers contributing nicely off the bench with a tough contested 3, a nice backdoor layup, and an offensive rebound

Just 3/11 from the field for Schwieger, Llewellyn, and Aririguzoh early on. Getting decent looks, just not finishing (especially Schwieger). Defense doing a good job forcing a lot of long 2s from Dartmouth

Evbuomwan starting to get aggressive as he's being guarded by Foye/Slajchert on a lot of possessions. Just hit a corner 3 (which would be awesome to consistently see!) and then drew a foul going up on a post up. He heads to the line after the U8 with the Tigers down 20-19

Monster swat on a Samuels layup attempt by Llewellyn just to remind you how athletic he is in case you forgot. He's struggling from the field but the defense and rebounding are still there so far

Schwieger post up and a Morales 3 give the Tigers their first lead of the game, now up 25-20 at the U4

2 empty possessions from the Tigers to end the half is a missed opportunity to build a buffer, but they take a 32-27 lead into the half. All 8 of the Tigers who appeared for more than a minute of action scored, led by 6 a piece from Schwieger and Aririguzoh

2/5 on FTs, continuing a weird trend for Dartmouth as they have the #1 Free Throw "defense" in the country. Teams shooting only 58.8% against the Big Green this season

Tigers push the lead to 9 at the U16. Aririguzoh and Knight both battling each other hard tonight, with Knight shooting just 3/10 (including a few bunny misses) and Aririguzoh only getting 6 attempts up so far

Lineup situation right now forcing the 6-0 Samuels to guard Schwieger and it is not something it looks like he wants to do. Tigers extend the lead to 44-33 with 13 to play

50-37 with 9 to play. Aririguzoh showing off his passing touch with a couple of nice back door passes to Desrosiers for layups tonight. Morales everywhere on the defensive end in the past few minutes.

Tigers continue to extend the lead, now lead 55-37 with 7 to go. Can't say enough about the Tigers' attention to detail and defensive effort in this 2nd half. Team looks locked in and Dartmouth hasn't had an easy look all half. Across the board the screen switches, help defense, and rebounding has been excellent

Emblematic of that effort and attention to detail, Wright all over Foye on a baseline out of bounds play and swats his catch and shoot 3pt attempt out of bounds, then on the ensuing possession he gives him high hands on a drive and forces a missed layup

17 point lead at the under-4, expect maybe a couple more possessions of the regulars, and as long as the lead holds there should be some opportunities to get some minutes for the bench guys and let the regulars start resting up for a big one tomorrow night

66-44 Tigers win! Absolutely the best defensive performance for this team by a wide measure. This does not look anything like the team that was one of the worst defenses in the country in the early going. Dartmouth finishes with just 0.72 points per possession.

Aririguzoh with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals on 6/8 shooting while holding Chris Knight to 10 points on 5/14 shooting. Wright holds Foye to 7 points on 3/11 shooting, and Aaryn Rai never got going with just 4 points on 1/4 shooting.

And, Bagin continues his hot shooting streak with another 3 in the closing minutes! Overall one of the best games this team has played all year. Big chance to make a statement tomorrow night against a Harvard team that may be fatigued after a hard fought overtime loss in Philadelphia

That was exactly the kind of performance I was hoping for coming off the Penn games. Aside from Llewelyn missing some layups (and the rest of his game was great), there was little to complain about.

Reminded me of a game long ago where the Tigers held Dartmouth under 40, and Pete Carril, when asked how it was done, said something like "They had guardable players and we guarded them." This Big Green team is way more talented than that one was, but Princeton's D looked pretty locked in, aside from a few too many straight drives given up in the first half.

Wright was excellent and the Big 3 did their jobs. Morales once again catalyzed the run that changed the game in Princeton's favor. It was great to see Arirguzoh's improved passing out of the high post, something that wasn't looking too good earlier in the season.

Even the broadcast was interesting, as "The Mackchine" on color commentary brought a dry, intelligent humor to the show.

Now we need to see a similar all-around effort against a physical and athletic Harvard team that probably matches up a lot better against Princeton than did Dartmouth and Penn.

I actually thought the Tigers looked a little rusty on offense in the first half last night. The difference between early season and now is the defense. Dartmouth has some nice players but they really struggled to get anything going against our D. I was one of those fans complaining that Mitch would rarely deviate from the rather porous man-to-man the team was playing at the beginning of the season. I guess he knew what he was doing...

Maybe, as I suggested, Carla Berube had a little chat with Mitch about effective defense.🤔🐅

PS. Since his freshman year, RA is the most improved center on the planet. He will be severely tested tonight.
