Very comprehensive. The DP writers should look at this and write game stories of this caliber.

Will McCormack (the men's basketball beat writer for the YDN) is truly a gem. I'd expect to see him working for a national outlet of some kind after he graduates.

Also noticed that the sports articles refer to the player's graduating class the first time he/she is mentioned.

Love the quotes he reported. Good questions and thoughtful, informative answers. Yale shot much better Friday than Saturday. When you are shooting the ball you can beat anybody and that goes for the entire league.

The graduating years thing is a YDN stylebook custom. The DP sports section hasn't ever done it that I can remember.

And as someone who worked over there for a while (as a few of us did), and now works across town (as fewer of us do than used to), I'm going to refrain from criticizing except to say any college newspaper has to go out and get students who want to do this stuff. In some years, with the campuses being as diverse of background and interests as they are, they just aren't out there.

Doesn't mean the DP shouldn't be held to a high standard, just saying that a lot of us are on the outside.

I hope that makes sense.
