Lots of contact down low on 2 attempts by JL but no call, and Harvard turns the ensuing 5 on 4 possession into a transition basket. Lead down to 50-49 with 8 minutes left

Tigers really struggling with Harvard's length inside right now. Crimson up 61-57 with 2:11 to play

JL attacks hard but Forbes with another block and Harvard leads 61-60 with 7.5 left, Kirkwood shooting 2. 10 blocks for Harvard tonight

Crazy sequence, Tigers unable to score and Harvard wins it 61-60. Tough loss, Tigers struggled to put Harvard away when they had the lead, as has been the case for a few years now. Harvard's length just caused too many problems inside tonight

I want to see the replay of that scramble again. Sure looked like Harvard player grabbed JL’s arm to keep him from going up with the ball at the end. Tough loss!

On the replay it looked like Juzang grabbed him but you're never going to get that call there unfortunately. Coach Earl giving Yale everything they can handle up in Ithaca so still a chance the Tigers don't drop out of their tie for first. Brown and Harvard's wins put them even with the Tigers. 1-5 are going to be very tightly contested this year, maybe the first time in the ILT era

Yale up 1 2OT turns ball over with 22 sec to go. Cornell takes lead on a back door running center-forward, but leaves 13 sec for Yale to get a basket snd the lead.

Without Schwieger in the lineup, a 1 point loss at Harvard doesn't look too bad, and it was nice to see JL stepping up offensively early. Tough loss but can't complain too much, the Tigers had a chance to win it. They've been excellent on 2nd nights so far this season and will need to continue that tomorrow night in Hanover. Getting a split this weekend still leaves them in striking distance for the top spot

Schwieger was on the bench at Harvard, so I guess there is a chance he could play on Saturday.

Had plenty of chances at the end, but proud of the road effort w/o Schweiger. Even with the Tourney, the conference regular season has been superb.

Watched first 10 minutes live, and the last five minutes this AM.
As stated, good road effort without a key cog.
I love Forbes' hair--I feel like I'm back on campus in the 60's again.
The in-bound play at the end was well conceived; they got a switch at the elbow, and Richmond was guarded by a smaller man. The pass was a hair short, and Richmond fumbled it. Otherwise would have been a decent shot, probably fouled, and another chance to tie/win at the line. *sigh*
Oh well.
Go Tigers tonight.
Still in play for the title but mostly playing for the tournament. We match up well against everyone except Yale.

Competitive hard fought game on the road. Yale has the Tiger's number as you suggest but other than that there is very little difference amongst the remaining teams for Mitch and crew. I was surprised that Harvard did not play better at home -- turnover machine but they play very hard.
Dartmouth will be a very tough team on the road as they are playing much better. Mitch mentioned them several weeks ago on the radio show which he reaffirmed last week. He seemed to have as much trepidation as to playing Dartmouth on the road as Harvard.
There does not appear to be a ONi/Copeland team in the league this year but it is widely competitive and fun to watch.

It was a very well designed play at the end and Friberg did throw it a bit short but I am sure that he wanted to make sure that he did throw it over Richmond's head and out of bounds.
Jaelin was fouled in scramble but they will not call it on the road and never leave it down to one play at the end.
Jaelin was the most athletic player on the court and he still has two years to refine his game.

May have been JL’s best game as a Tiger. 22 pats, 8 rb. 2 steals, 0 TOs. He played with high energy but within himself. Looking for another strong Saturday game after a gutsy performance last night.

One field goal in the last 5 minutes would have done it.

JL had 2 layups rim out in the last 5 minutes and got a great look at the rim but Forbes made a great defensive play. Without Schwieger in the lineup and with RA and Lewis basically neutralizing each other, the Tigers really struggled offensively down the stretch as JL struggled with the length of Forbes and Baker down low.
Forbes played over Lewis most of the 2nd half and wreaked havoc on defense. I would've liked to have seen some lineups with Desrosiers as the 5 against Forbes down the stretch to spread the floor a bit more.
I'm also surprised we didn't go to more guard post ups. The Tigers started both halves by posting up Juzang, with JL scoring on him to start the game and then Wright scoring on him to start the 2nd half. Typically the first 2-3 plays of the half are scripted, so it suggests the coaching staff saw an advantage there. Think we could gone to that look a little bit more. Not only does it give us good looks inside, but it's also tiring for guards like Juzang to defend in the post, which can affect them on the other end. Schwieger obviously does it a lot but JL and Wright look like they have some post moves too against smaller guards.

True. But I wonder, would a lob close to the rim have been better. Treat it more like a short shot.
