Quite a turnaround from the disaster of last weekend, as Cornell beats Brown comfortably. Knapp continues his impressive Ivy campaign, 30 points, 7 assists, 5 steals on the weekend and he hasn't turned the ball over in 5 games. I'm happy to own this "L" for writing Bryan off earlier this season.

Dickson and Filien continue to look like they have potential in the post (though Kobe's free throws should be illegal) and Dolan bounced back with a nice weekend as he takes over the role of first guard off the bench.

Probably their best game of the season and certainly their best back-to-back games of the season.

Cornell now 8-4 at home in the last two seasons (two losses in OT), 2-10 on the road (both wins on the same weekend).

It's really noticeable this year. 4-4 at home v. D1 opponents; winless on the road.

I hope Ithaca treats you well, except for about two hours in the evening!

Newman could be really dead, since the Hockey team will be playing Clarkson for the ECAC title over at Lynah. All things being equal, hockey typically beats hoops at Cornell. And these games are not equal to a Big Red fan.

Oh, that’s a big hockey game! Understandable that basketball could be sparsely attended.

Where does one park? Food nearby?

Thanks

It's been a while since I've been to the campus, but on a Saturday there should be parking at the Crescent Lot (behind the football stadium) or the Hoy garage (between the stadium and baseball field). Both are pretty close to the arena. Hoops gets an hour jump on hockey, which should help out and the women's hockey game (they could draw a few thousand) should be done by 5 or so.

There aren't many food options on campus other than the restaurant at the Statler. Plenty of places in Collegetown (down the hill and across the gorge from Newman), but they've all turned over many times since my student days. Except for the Souvlaki House, bless them.

If you are up for a Vegetarian meal, the Moosewood is downtown and pretty exceptional.

If you get there early you could park in the lot right right across from Newman. Simeons in the commons is our favorite place to eat.

Glad to hear Simeon's is still there; I always liked that place.

I also remember watching Richie Moran hold court down the street at Plums.

It closed for some time after it was significantly damaged (and a waitress was killed) by a truck who lost it's breaks coming down the hill, but it reopened
