Other than the remote chance of being regular season co-champs, do these two games have any meaning this weekend?

Thinking very far ahead but if the Tigers were to win the Ivy League Tournament and get the bid, a loss this weekend would probably put the Tigers into the high 16 seed range in the NCAA tournament, and possibly even in Dayton depending on how other conference tournaments play out. Even with a sweep and winning 2 in Cambridge they'd probably end up on that 15 line still, but losing one at home to 2 teams ranked below 250 would almost assure a 16 seed.
If nothing in terms of the standings or far off selection shows, it's the last home weekend for Aririguzoh and Morales, and from Coach Henderson's words on his radio show this week I'm holding out a sliver of hope that Gladson may suit up on Saturday, even if it's just for one possession, for his final home weekend as well. Would be nice to send those guys off with a sweep at Jadwin. Personally very excited to see Aririguzoh's senior night send off, hard to think of a player in recent memory who has made such an impact on and off the court in only their final 2 years

Columbia is completely packing it in against the Tigers, same way they played Harvard earlier in the season. Tigers are already 4/11 from 3 after 8 minutes of play. Harvard took 43 and Dartmouth took 36 against them this year, so 3s are going to be there. Seems like a weird strategy to me to try to force 3s but I'm not a D1 coach
Tigers defense has been good so far, they lead 17-6 at the U12.

Smith's heating up, but Tigers defense still holding strong and they take a 37-21 lead into the U4 timeout.
Really bizarre game, there's so many open 3s available that any possession that doesn't end in a made 3 feels like a less than ideal possession. Tigers are 9/20 from 3, including 3 from Friberg and 3 from Llewellyn, who's continuing to play his way into 1st team all-Ivy consideration

Any time you double up the other team at halftime, lots of things are going well. The three-point shooting has been very good, mostly in-rhythm shots off passes. The defense has been impressive--Smith's ten points were hard-earned, and the Tigers have been physical and sneakily disruptive in swiping at the ball.

Looks like the Tigers should cruise. If the scores hold and Harvard falls to Brown in Cambridge, the first round matchup of Harvard/Princeton is guaranteed as Yale will clinch sole possession of first place when their game in Hanover goes final.
Brown still alive for #4 but Penn still in the driver's seat

Nice job of not yakking up the big lead. I hate it when they do that by not running good offense, and this time even when Smith got rolling a bit, the Tigers kept on working for good shots.

Noah Savage mentioned during the telecast that the traveling calls against Richmond during the Yale game were reviewed, and some but not all were incorrect.
I wonder if Jones was not in the referees' ears prior to the game regarding this.
I am sure Richmond will not let it happen again in the tournament, and I am sure Coach will be pre-loading the refs' ears as well.

On his radio show, Mitch rarely complains about refs but he gave every indication that he was not the least bit happy regarding the refs in the Yale game. Described it as a very physical game and the Tigers got to the line 5 times vs. 16 times for Yale but in a way what do you expect Saturday night on the road in IL play.
To their credit, Mitch, coaching staff and obviously the players did turn around the season -- played much better as the season progressed. Turning point was when everyone made the commitment to play defense every waking moment. The inside/out game did help until Tiger's 3 pt shooting woke up.
Tigers probably have a chance during IvyMadness but who knows if you care.

I care for two reasons:
1) Ivy basketball is the only sport I watch, so I get to watch more games.
2) The players want to play.
Well, three reasons:
3) We could win.

This post is about Princeton but it's more about college basketball and college sports in general. Colby Kyle scored his first career points for Princeton at the end of the game last night. He got open underneath, fouled and threw in a wild shot. The reaction of the Princeton bench is what was really cool. See the picture in the link below- all his teammates are genuinely excited for him. There would have been a similar reaction from teammates at many schools but the photographer got a great shot to show the camaraderie.

Kyle has been through a lot injury wise, and a bunch of the guys have mentioned him as the funniest member of the team in their appearances on the Mitch Henderson Show. Definitely a special moment for him and his teammates, and I’m glad he’s healthy enough to play again
