Has anyone read about any of the Ivy grad transfers making their decision based primarily on an academic program available at one school but not at another? For the leading players this doesn't even seem to be part of the speculation.

The next one I see will be the first (for me, at least).

Not a current example, and not for strictly school academics, but looks like Henry Caruso may fit the question:

“ 'Being in the Silicon Valley right here, I’ve been interested in business and what ties that could bring,' Henry says. 'So right now, I’m taking finance classes and business classes and being exposed to different networking opportunities and connections within the area.' For a project in his business communications class, he was required to meet with people in the field to see what their day-to-day is like. Henry says opportunities like this are valuable.”

Looks like facts that Henry's sister was enrolled at Santa Clara and both his parents went there might have been a MUCH larger factor than academics.

As we expected, Aiken is grad transferring to Seton Hall

I have no idea how large a role those factors played in reality, but I don't agree that it is a fair interpretation of the article to say they played a "MUCH larger role."

For all we know, the availability of the nearby Half Moon Bay golf courses (glimpsed in the picture background) was important, too. It might be for me.

Close to home, recruited him hard out of HS, in the Big East, and tons of opportunity available so Seton Hall makes a lot of sense for Aiken. Hoping that he has an injury free season and thrives

Seton Hall's graduating its 2 starting guards, including Myles Powell who was one of the best guards in the country, so there's a ton of minutes and possessions in the backcourt up for grabs

Yeah... would have been very, very surprising to see either of Seth/Bryce not go back to the hometown schools.

Very cool for both of them and hope they are able to do well (and honestly... hope there is a season they get to play in, because that would be next level torture if their season back was impacted).

I don't even want to think about the possibility that next season might be affected. It's just too horrible an idea to even contemplate.

Really?

You think that of all the fine academic institutions in this country that Caruso chose Santa Clara because of its academics? I'm sure it's a fine institution, but really?

Without knowing where else he was offered a scholarship for graduate school, it's hard to say whether or not academics were a factor. It's possible Santa Clara was the best academic program that offered Caruso a spot. Among the top 50 business schools in the country, almost all of them are in the Ivy, non D1, or are power conference teams in basketball - unlikely any of them were available options for him as a graduate transfer

Looks like Jordan Bruner is expected to decide between Alabama, Baylor and Maryland today at 3pm.

Trend seems to be towards Alabama, and Alabama's head coach retweeted a tweet from Bruner's mother about him being named Academic All-Ivy last night

With Aiken's commitment to Seton Hall, Michigan's search for a PG may lead them to Mike Smith it looks like

Seriously. Injuries are really stripping the league of some of its most talented and productive players.

NCAA is set to consider one year exception for transfers. Would allow all basketball transfers to be eligible to play next season for their new schools, not just graduate transfers. Meeting to discuss April 25th, vote on May 20th.

There are 181 graduate transfers, but an additional 565 in the transfer portal currently expecting to sit out 2020-21. Examples would be Forrest and Columbia’s new transfer from Bryant.

Wild West coming up? Would anyone concerned about playing time, Coach, dorm room assignment, ex-GF, etc move?

Bruner is a good fit in bamas system should he go.

He also is like a stones throw from jim Andrews. Hope it doesn’t come to that but dr is on the sidelines and seemingly every Alabama or auburn football game

I think knee health is huge for Jordan. The back to backs were brutal. He plays more games but gets more rest

No idea where he ends up though selfishly bama wld be great given I am in prime sec network territory
