I'm a big fan of Steve D.; but if he leaves for any reason, my first call would be to Langel and ask him to bring his whole staff with him even if he can't promise to beat Amaker in the recruiting wars.

If any assistants took another gig or if we needed to mix up the assistants for some reason, would LOVE to see Coach Donahue bring Michael Jordan back to Penn. Big fan, and I believe he has done some good recruiting for them, even in the Philly area.

Good for him, though I'd still love to see him join our staff if opportunity presents itself!

This story is more than a month old, but I did not see it posted anywhere.
At Colgate, Matt Langel has hired Shawn Trice to fill the assistant coach vacancy on his staff created by the departure of Michael Jordan.

I forgot about Mike leaving and went digging for the story that Palestra had already shared. I missed this gem:
"I remember hearing a story about how Ira [Bowman] ripped off a sink after their streak snapped at Dartmouth. It was intimidating to try and fill those shoes, but we came in wanting to keep it going."
Lol. I remember exactly where I was when we lost that one.

Which was responsible for us tying Princeton that year despite beating them twice and then losing in OT at the playoff when everyone fouled out.

But I did have the opportunity to bump into Ed Rendell in the men's bathroom at halftime of that game.
That's some consolation.
I guess.

That's great news! Shawn is a terrific person and I'm very happy for him. Will have to get to a Colgate game to see the alumni trio if they ever have games again and permit people to come to them! Best of luck Shawn and congratulations!

Congrats to Trice. Hope Michael Jordan is successful at Drexel, but not so successful that he overshadows the neighbors to his
Southwest.
