Saw that--would assume he is short term until they find a replacement. Go Owls!

I think the article doesn’t rule him out as a candidate for the permanent position.

I would be very surprised if that is where they go. They are too invested in football to have a basketball guy, much less one whom the Temple basketball fans are not very happy with, as the permanent guy. I love Frannie, but don't think that will happen.

Completely agree with P38. That said, it's undeniable that, once a guy is in a job he's determined to keep, it can be surprisingly difficult to get him out. Of course, this all assumes that Fran actually wants the permanent job. He might not.

The Inquirer article strongly suggest that he does not want the permanent position.

I agree it is unlikely for any number of reasons, but I was surprised they even left the door open in that piece.

From today's follow up piece in the Inky:
"Dunphy hinted at times during Thursday’s Zoom call with the media that he is there to just fill in the gap before an athletic director is hired, but he wouldn’t say for sure that this is only temporary. A Temple source said Dunphy isn’t expected to be the long-term solution but in these uncertain times, nobody knows for sure what lies ahead."
At this point, all signs point to this being temporary but things are weird right now.
