There is a good interview with Steve you can find on Twitter. He covers a lot of ground including yesterday’s announcement and prospects for next year

Says Wang is back "will be a big piece". MLL "will probably play a great deal".
Program has rebounded but not near where he thinks it can get to.
Interesting interview.

Note that Coach Donahue states men's and women's basketball specifics are still unclear.
This makes sense to me as it's more of a hybrid fall/winter sport.
Seems to think it will be dependent on the end of the semester / when students leave campus. Also seems somewhat confident there will be the ability to play non-conference games before the IL season.
We shall see.

Unreleased schedule news though:
Supposed to be playing at Penn State late December. Not a guarantee game, could this mean a home-and-home?

That was a very encouraging podcast for the status of our players and the program overall. I hope his optimism is well placed. It actually could be a pretty fun (and frustrating) season with such young players. Unfortunately, I doubt there will be much or any basketball season.

Interesting interview done with AJ Brodeur:
https://twitter.com/clevismurray/status/1 281578816...
In it he talks about COVID’s disruption to the season, to his professional aspirations, coming to Penn, the analytics focus of the offense, NEPSAC, college recruitment, and more. It’s about one hour long, worth listening to if you have a surplus of free time like myself.

If there are no sports until January, I would think we are looking at a limited Ivy-only schedule. What the power 5 football conferences are trying to salvage now might be the only option on the table for smaller conferences in other sports. Maybe they can save the Big 5 games because of the little travel involved, but most teams don't have as many local games as that.

I think the league would be happy to have only league games with an eye towards surviving for the Ivy tournament. If more games are considered, maybe tournament could be expanded for all 8 teams with play-in format? Would think that the best one could reasonably hope for is that squads are permitted a few local games to warm up for the season.
Will fans be allowed?

If fans are allowed, it would be at minimal capacity.
Penn's expectation for students, similar to other institutions, is that social gatherings are extremely limited as well as occupancy of buildings. We also need a "green card" within an app downloaded on our phones to give us permission to enter buildings. Unless Penn Athletics has planned that expansion out for its fanbase, I would be suspect as to fan attendance close to what it is now for Penn and other schools.

We should probably take this over to the League Board, but IF (big if) there is League only play in Jan there are some interesting questions raised. Brown will go to a trimester program and Freshmen will not come to campus until the 2nd "mester" or end of the 1st, probably mid Dec. Other schools will have other scenarios. The discussions could be fun.

IF fans are allowed, they should go back to the original schedule and play at Princeton--it's the only League arena specifically designed for social distancing with 4/5 of the seats on one side going up to heaven.

Yes. How do you build a modern arena in the 70's with 7,000 capacity & most of the seats in a different zip code. And there is no problem with limited attendance at the 2021 tournament, since it's being held at the Lavatory at Harvard with less seating than most high school gyms.

That's my point---Harvard is essentially a high school gym, and no room for social distancing. You can have more people at Princeton even with social distancing.

It wouldn't be the Palestra if it weren't hot & crowded for a big game.

Can you imagine how many colds and flu infections have been transmitted at the Palestra over the years?
