Perhaps unsurprisingly, Princeton's Carlie Littlefield will be playing as a grad transfer at UNC for Courtney Banghart next season

At least, Smith-Bruner-Towns have a realistic chance of winning a National Championship. Of the three, Smith is not only a starter like Bruner but he gets the most of minutes of the three.
Very disappointing not to see the Il represented at the Sunday Selection show. I would imagine that IL Presidents are in total denial and not watching. I wonder if Robin, ADs and BB coaches were watching -- I would assume that the later group did watch.
Lastly, what were the IL BB players like Knight and Schwieger thinking who will be heading to Loyola of Chicago, #8 seed this year.

Probably noted that its a senior laden roster that will give them a real chance to play next year. Don't know what grad program either is pursuing; but Loyola is a Jesuit school, so there are probably good ones available.

Knight is a great option to replace Krutwig. Porter Moser loves to play through the post and Chris Knight could thrive there. And Schweiger is another natural fit for that program. I'd expect both to see major minutes next year and combined with some very good younger talent, they could easily get back to the NCAA next year

Except — aren’t the seniors all able to come back next year? Unless they are headed to the NBA, I assume they will mostly stick around for another year.

Loyola has many grad programs. Eons ago my mother was able to take some grad courses there when pursuing a graduate degree elsewhere.

There was a Sunday Selection Show? Just kidding, sort of... I watched 0.0 minutes of college basketball this year once decision was made to bin the Ivy season and I certainly didn't watch the selection show either. If I didn't watch as a big college basketball fan in general, I think your assumption that IL Presidents didn't watch is a solid bet.

I am still completely confused @ that. Next year, this years graduates can play as grad students at their same school; but this was promulgated after the application deadlines for almost all programs & the seniors who entered the transfer portal had already arranged their new landing spots.

The funny thing is that the Selection Show almost got delayed due to the length of the Illinois-Ohio State game. As it was, it may have started a few minutes late but if that game had gone to 2OT....oy.

As of this morning, there are 904 D1 men's basketball players in the transfer portal with the number rising each hour. With 357 teams that's an average of about 2.5 players departing each program in D1

Certainly neutralizes the potential disadvantage that the Ivies would face next season in terms of team returning player minutes. Also could have huge knock-on effects for 2022 recruiting. Less so for the Top 150 set of prospects that will get recruited heavily either way, but for that next layer of impact players that will get high-major interest, but could be strong Ivy gets... there might not be as many P5 offers to compete with for that "solid 3-star"-type player.
