Like the men, the women open up vs Navy at 2 PM on Saturday. Here is the preseason preview:
https://bucknellbison.com/news/2020/12/30/women s-b...
The women are in the toughest of the three mini-conferences, with both Lafayette and Lehigh picked for the top four. They also have two games vs 5th place American and two vs sixth place Colgate.

Unfortunately the women's two games vs Navy have been postponed due to positive covid tests at Navy. Will be rescheduled.
Navy can't seem to get their covid act together. Have had problems with men's basketball, women's basketball, and football - despite having a school with gates and fencing, where it is much easier to control things than it is at Bucknell or Colgate or Boston U.

I feel badly for the players. They've been waiting for two months and now this. Let's hope this doesn't become a common occurrence.
Does anyone know why HC and BU are playing Mon-Tue instead of Sat-Sun?

It has to do with Boston U's testing schedule. Apparently they let their players go home for Christmas and then needed 10+ days of isolation when they returned.

Looks like rescheduling might be easy - although other cancellations might complicate things. As things stand now, the Bison are scheduled to play Loyola on the weekend of February 6th, and Navy and American also play each other that weekend. So simply switching things to match up Bucknell-Navy and American-Loyola would bring the schedule into equilibrium.
On paper, Loyola doesn't look much stronger than Navy. However they get back two double figure scorers who missed all of last season with injuries. If both are healthy, they could be a tough opponent. Both had previously been on the PL all-rookie team and one was PL ROY a few years ago.

Nice first win for the women. Let Loyola climb back within 8 at halftime after leading by 17, but blew it open in the 2nd half holding Loyola to 16 pts.

The women had a terrible first half on offense, but their D kept them in it and they were only down 21-20 at halftime. They turned it around in the 3rd and really clamped down in the 4th (only allowing 8 points) to win 59-44. Abby Kapp missed her first 8 shots before hitting her last 2. She and Brugler had only 12 points combined. Taylor O'Brien had a big day with 18, despite missing some easy layups.

Taylor is a really good player. In my limited views of her play, she’s extremely athletic for the PL and a polished scorer. But she also is good at disturbing the rock. Very quick too.

Krsul also deserves a mention. played very well in q4 helping the Bison take control of the game. her moves in the post remind me a bit of DeBoer. looks like she can be a significant factor this year.

The women jumped up three spots to #17 in the mid-major poll despite not playing. Passed Central Michigan, Belmont, and Drexel, who all lost.
