Zineddine Bedri, Spring Creek Academy (TX) 6'10 C/PF 4.1 GPA, NatHonSoc
He will graduate and do a prep year before attending.
Originally from Algeria, he was the second leading scorer on the same Texas team (Spring Creek Academy 26-2) with Columbia's commit Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa. Averaged 12/8 this year. Shoots 40%+ from the 3, 70+% free throws, 65% field goals. When they won both a national prep tourney at Big Shots and their state championship tourney, Bedri was all tourney with De La Rosa.
He is also found online as Badri Zine Eddin, Zinedine Bedri, and Zino Bedri.
Below are various articles, videos and tweets about Zino:

From Texas Top 250 Expo 10/2/20: Zineddine Bedri | 2021 | 6’10 †Power Forward | Spring Creek Academy – Bedri was awesome a few months ago at the PH Circuit Southwest Slam, and that continued on Sunday. His offensive versatility makes him difficult to defend. He uses a good combination of back-to-basket and face-up movements inside the three-point line and can also stretch and hit three from the grip or dribble. Plus, he knocked down pretty high post flip jumpers. When it comes to defense, Bedri is a solid rim protector in paint. He returned many shots during the event. He went aggressively after the rebounds too, completing an outstanding overall performance.
From Recruit Blogger Jamie Shaw:
Jamie Shaw Feb 26
6’10 unsigned senior Zinedine Bedri (of SCASPARTANSBB (TX) has such great pace and skill. Can face up or score on the block, good rebounder and passer. A lot to like here for D1s at #BigShots.
From Big TX Tourney 9/202
3rd Team
Zinedine Bedri - TRT Academy (TX)
Class: 2021
Height: 6-foot-10
HS: Spring Creek Academy (TX)
20 PTS vs. Mudiay Elite
12 PTS vs. Team ESBY
In the mold of modern big man, Bedri has the mobility and shooting ability to do everything on the court. He showed a high IQ on the floor and filled open zones in the defense to maximize his scoring chances. He was able to put the ball on the floor on the break, facilitate for others on his team from multiple positions in the half-court and had plenty of touch to shoot from the perimeter.

Columbia commit Zineddine Bedri, who will do a post-grad year, is #23 in gray for Southern Assault. This is a video summary of their AAU win yesterday vs. the Houston Defenders.

So just to be clear, he is commits to us for 2022, and is currently doing his PG year, correct?

Sorry for any confusion. Yes he is committed, currently doing a post-grad year at DME Academy in Florida. He will arrive in '22 along with Arop Arop, Kenny Noland and Blair Thompson.

One of our assistants in the /smith days used to work with our big men as I recall (Hartman?). I don’t think we have had anybody in that role for a few years. shouldn’t we? As far as Bedri, how did he do this year and what is the prognosis on whether he is an impact guy?

So we are getting Bedri, Kenny Noland, Arop Arop, Blair Thompson, and Avery Brown?
That's quite a haul.

Yes it is, especially since the height of the Beatles' success and the last time the men's basketball team won the IL (this group is the presumably the favorite for 2025 season!) are both 50+ yrs. in the equally distant past.

I have seen a Hotchkiss post that Arop is coming for a post-grad year, so perhaps 4 rather than 5 are coming,

Arop Arop (will arrive in '23) and Kenny Noland (will arrive in '22) are currently in Germany playing with Hotchkiss. They just defeated Alba Berlin's youth team (Maodo Lo plays for the parent club). They won and Arop especially played well. He had 25. They both got to meet Lo.
