Looks like she had a lot of success at Bowdoin.

Adrienne Shibles seems like a really good choice for Dartmouth. She's an experienced coach who has had a lot of success and knows how to recruit high quality student-athletes.
The league is really tough with Princeton, Penn, Harvard dominating over the last 10 years and Yale & Columbia now joining the top group. It may take Shibles a few seasons to rebuild the program, but there's definite promise that Dartmouth could seriously compete and make this an even stronger conference.

New WBB Coach 05-04-21 10:10 AM - Post#323895
In response to rbg
I fully acknowledge that Dartmouth WBB is in full rebuilding mode. Having an experienced coach is probably necessary in these circumstances. Sheehy's types of hires for women's coaches (as Mrs. Go Green once put it: "25 and a ponytail") probably would not work here.
If nothing else, having had success at Bowdoin, Shibles probably isn't going to publicly complain that it's hard to recruit to a remote school like Dartmouth the way Koclanes did at times.

This is the best of all possible worlds to me. Dartmouth gets a proven, successful coach from the NESCAC ranks, but doesn't steal the one from my alma mater (https://athletics.amherst.edu/staff-directory/g-p-g romacki/118), which, with Shibles and Berube both now promoted to D-1, makes his life easier for the foreseeable future.

Just hired her first assistant, also from Bowdoin. I'm all for loyalty, but it would be good to have some D1 experience on the staff.

FWIW - When Carla Berube came to Princeton from Tufts, here are her coaching hires:
1 - Lauren Battista: assistant (assistant coach at Tufts, graduate assistant at BC, player at Bentley)
2 - Dalila Eshe: assistant (assistant coach at La Salle, assistant coach at East Carolina, DBO at Loyola, player at University of Florida)
3 - Lauren Dillon: assistant (assistant coach at Tufts, player at Tufts)
4 - Helen Tau: DBO (Director of Video Operations at Georgetown, graduate assistant at University of Texas)

And, of course, she played at UConn for Gino and won a national championship while going undefeated.
That carries a bit of a cache

Looks like Coach Shibles has hired her 2nd assistant coach.
Lydia Caputi played for Shibles at Bowdoin. Since her graduation in 2018, she has been an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Trinity College.

Well... if nothing else, everyone should be on the same page as far as running the program is concerned.

Sweet. Now they'll have a great shot at getting the players that Bowdoin was recruiting.

Coach Shibles has completed her staff with the official hiring of Sarah Assante as the second assistant coach and Lydia Caputi as director of basketball operations.
There is a significant lack of D-1 experience with this group.

It turns out that Coach Shibles was not done with her staff. She hired Meredith Mesaris as a volunteer assistant coach. With this being Dartmouth, it's no surprise that she has a connection to Williams (assistant 2016-2021).
