Tigers are heading out to Asheville, NC this morning in advance of a 9:30 PM tip time Friday night. The game will be televised on ESPN News.

KenPom has South Carolina #85, with a 74% win probability and a projected score of 78-71.
T-Rank is much lower on South Carolina, pegging them at #160 and giving them a 60% win probability and projects a 71-69 score.

South Carolina cruised to a relatively easy win over USC Upstate in their opener. Sophomore forward Keyshawn Bryant has been suspended for the first 5 games of the season, and George Mason grad transfer F AJ Wilson missed their opener but is expected to play tomorrow.

Juniors Jermaine Cousinard and Wildens Leveque lead the way for South Carolina, predicted to finish 11th in the SEC. Cousinard is an aggressive 6-4 guard - my guess is that Wright will get the assignment on him most of the night while Jaelin guards a lower usage guard. Leveque's 6-10, 255 lbs frame will definitely pose a test for the freshman Hooks, as well as for the Tigers small ball groups when Hooks is off the court. USC Upstate didn't play anyone taller than 6-8, and Leveque went to the FT line 10 times because of it. Leveque is also pretty foul prone himself, so a big key for the Tigers will be attacking him early to get him off the court. For his career he's averaging a pretty incredible 7 fouls per 40 minutes played.

South Carolina played very up tempo in their opener, and it'll be interesting to see if any of the aggressive ball pressure from the Tigers' opener sticks around tomorrow night.

Hope the Tigers get a little time to wander Asheville, a quintessential artsy latte town.

Hey, here’s a crazy idea for a team with trouble matching up with size in the post: Play some zone, match up on the ball.

Looks like Hooks is coming in off the bench. Slow start offensively, Tigers look a little tenative. 9-5 at the first media TO

Keeshawn Kellman active and in the rotation tonight. Offense still struggling to get things going right now, trailing 17-9 with 12 left

Here comes some life - gotten some stops on defense and Tosan and Jaelin attacking the basket has the Tigers on a 8-0 run in just a minute and a half of game time

3s not falling but the Tigers are getting much much better looks right now. Langborg and Friberg have missed some open looks that you hope they'll hit in the long run. Defense showing a lot of toughness

Tigers are rolling right now and a Wright 3 makes it a 25-21 lead and South Carolina calls timeout. Huge back door cut for a dunk by Kellman too, Tigers look the best they've looked all night

South Carolina goes zone and stymies the Tigers briefly but Llewellyn responds with a 3 and it's 30-25 Tigers with a minute left in the half. Would be awesome to take this lead into halftime

Great hustle play from Evbuomwan, and the Tigers close the half on a great 22-6 run. They lead 31-25 at halftime.

Llewellyn leads the way with 12 on 3/7 from 3. Tigers forced 10 turnovers from South Carolina in the first half

What a half! They shook off early rust and found their rhythm. Tosan and Keeshawn are making big plays on both ends.

Up 31-25 despite shooting just 29% from 3. Still, it's hard to imagine a better first half against an SEC team after a year of inactivity!

Slow start to the 2nd half and it's 33-33. Tigers already in foul trouble with 7 fouls committed with 14 minutes to play. South Carolina will be shooting FTs the rest of the way

One small thing Jaelin does that's so impressive is how well he navigates screens defensively. South Carolina's not getting anything off of pick and rolls when his man is the ball handler

South Carolina's big guys cannot stay in front of Tosan without fouling him. He drives and kicks to Langborg who hits his 2nd 3 in a row and the Tigers have a 41-38 lead. Fouls evening up now too, South Carolina's picked up 5 quick ones

Tigers take a 50-46 lead into the Under-8 media timeout. Tosan took a big fall going for a rebound and left the game, but appears to be ok on the bench.

Langborg and Martini with back to back 3s, Langborg has hit 4 tonight

Tosan is a matchup nightmare for South Carolina. They've tried tons of different matchups and he's burning them all with free throw line drives
