It's a double home opener with the women taking on King's College at 4:00 pm and the men playing Lafayette at 7:00 pm.
No probable lineup in the Game Notes, only a list of Sunday's starters.
At KenPom, Penn is #239 and Lafayette is #303. The prediction is an 81-73 win for Penn. Lafayette is 0-2, including a 5 point loss to Cornell.

I was in attendance.
Nice arena and campus, but we stunk.
Dingle was injured and did not make the trip.

So you also among the Sapped Spirit Squad? Man, the pessimism among the posters here is truly hard to take. I may have to hang with my Columbia brethren. They are optimistic when they are on the verge of a winless season. What happened to all you guys?

Great to see games back at the Palestra!
The women won 91-55, just missing out on free cheesesteaks for the crowd.

Good start, 9-0 at the under-16 timeout. Jelani has already scored on a post move inside, MLL on a nice inside pass for a dunk, Charles for 3, and a Monroe layup off a backcut.

In the house.
Mosh cannot finish for his life.
Going back to teaching in a bit.
Caught up with the game via streaming. Life is good. Lafayette is not.

vs Lafayette 11-16-21 08:47 PM - Post#328648

Overall, a good half. First game where it had really looked like the Donahue offense for long stretches, although they did bog down a bit in the final 5:00. 7 guys in the scoring column already, and they didn’t have to lean too hard on Dingle to produce points.
Defense also the best of the season so far, although they did have some trouble with Quinn late once Lafayette started to focus on feeding him in the post.

Spinoso is the only one wide enough to guard Quinn. Physical mismatches are going to be a problem all season.
Nice to have a Martz sighting.

Nice work by Moskowitz and Spinoso to push the lead back to 19 at the under 16:00 timeout.
No Wang so far, and this would definitely be a game where you’d expect to see him if he were healthy.

Mosh has really only had one good play all game, a steal that led to a layup on the break. A few good assists.
Obvious lack of defensive chops from the bigs. Bad positioning and walling up. Going to get killed inside during the season/against bigger teams if this doesn’t change.
Intensity on defense really good overall though. Great improvement from FSU

Monroe with the traditional 3-point play pushes the lead to 29, under 10:00 left.
