I'm not an expert lip reader, but I don't think the Marist coach has managed to make it through any single sentence tonight without uttering a cuss word.

In fairness, hard to blame him with how his team has looked tonight haha.

Surprised that this Marist team was picked 3rd in the MAAC in the preseason poll

Nice 11-0 run here from the Tigers as Marist had started to creep into the 11-13 point range.

Langborg's got 4 3s and it's 67-43 with 8 to play

They remind me of Minnesota only in that everything that they attempt to do on offense is strictly one on one. There is simply no offensive system or teamwork--everything is an individual effort.

Of course, Minnesota has clearly more talented players.

Let's give some credit to our guys - they're looking like a Top 100 team. The Ivy in general looks a lot better than expected early on.

Nice flurry from the starters and it's 73-47 with 2 to play! Looks like a full bench 5 coming in after the Marist timeout

Still--grand total of 4 assists on the night for Marist.

Princeton has indeed played well. Marist has made that easier to accomplish.

Nice easy win - no drama. Exactly what I was hoping for. I'm glad they got to 80... nice round number!

Something about this Tiger team reminds me of Duke-lite. A couple of lean, skilled athletic guys who can play inside and out and make plays for themselves and others, overall scrappiness fighting for rebounds and loose balls, and some deadeye outside shooting and some power inside, to go with quick hands and willing (if not always rapid) feet on defense. Not going to call Kellman Baby Zion or anything, though, even though some of his plays have really impressed me.

Anyway, fun game where Princeton doubled up the opposition a few times in the first half. Marist just a bit too short to get away with all that one-on-one action they tried on offense. I always wonder about mid-major teams with primitive half-court offenses--what are their coaches thinking?

Went to the game -- very small crowd but enthusiastic -- you could sit anywhere.

Tigers played very well on defense and challenged everything, The interior defense including Kellman, EVb, Friberg and Hooks were particularly impressive. Rare time that I have seen Princeton bigs dominate the interior.

on the offensive end, Langborg was really stroking it. Marist really played well on Evb. Offense is still a work-in-progress but the Tigers have shooters as per usual.

Kellman, Evb, and Hooks will get minutes on the interor along with Friberg, Jaelin, Wright and Langborg. Johns and Martini will get some minutes. Alloco is not ready to play yet Mitch is giving him some minutes.

Marist had an off night but they have an athletic team that plays hard but not always very bright.

Actually Kellman may be our baby Zion? That jam he had vs South Carolina for example?

Really encouraging game!

Nice to hear Bradley’s eyewitness account of how the Tiger D looked live. Just read the Trentonian write-up and Langborg was talking about how their “defense starts the offense”. Very similar to how Coach Berube’s players talk about their team.

Loved to see Kellman getting the start, if he continues to develop that will create game planning challenges for Ivy opponents. Hooks also looked really solid for a freshman. The four go-to starters and Langborg plus these new pieces results in a rotation that provides many different looks while maintaining a really high level of play.

When the shots are falling the team obviously looks potent. Although the assist/FG was high last night, to my eye the offense still looked a bit disjointed. It seemed that most shots came from inside-out passes and post-ups rather than the outcome of cuts, spacing and ball movement. It may be that my expectations were set by past Tiger teams and I have not caught up with how Coach Henderson has evolved the Princeton offense. Or maybe they were just responding to what Marist was giving them.

As for Noah Savage, even I need to admit he can be a bit of a “homer” at times. I still enjoy his commentary and sense of humor.

While they are all good, I think the Brown, Penn and Princeton analysts could all be accused of being less objective at times.

The other announcers seem less inclined to favor the home team.

The offense wasn't perfectly flowing, but it's looked similar in the last few years, with lots of ball screens or dribble handoffs and the back cuts mostly being used to clear away the weakside help defenders. Kickouts from drives and post-ups have been the source of most of the assists for the team; when it's going well, passes are getting to wide open guys on the weak side at the three-point line. (Weisz was especially good at that particular drive and kick move.) If the ball gets stopped on the same side of the floor without any reversals, that's usually a sign that things aren't going too well.
