Our orange will have to be orangier and our black blacker.

Anybody able to stream this game? It appears FIOS is not one of their streaming partners.

Tigers up 41-39 at the half, after hitting 7-16 on threes. Friberg has 13, Wright 11, and Llewellyn 8.

Tigers hold on and win 81-80!
Wright with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Off game for Jaelin who was 5-17 FGs, 2-8 3Ps and 4 TOs.
Two wins vs. P5 and one OT loss.
Tough performance on OSU's home court.

Nice win for Princeton, 81-80 over Oregon State. Ethan Wright with 24 pts and 10 rebounds, Friberg with 17, Llewellyn 14, and Evbuomwan 14. The Tigers made 20-23 free throws and out-rebounded the Beavers 37-28.

I missed the game, but I'm thrilled to see the guys pull out a nailbiter! While this Oregon State team is far from last year's surprise Elite 8 squad, they're still a Pac 12 school playing at home - and they're hungry for a win after some close Ls.
It seems like Wright and Friberg really came through with OSU concentrating on stopping Jaelin and Tosan (5 dimes). Fair strategy... but it didn't work.

Impressive win on the road against a very talented team that has gotten off to a slow start -- they were a final 16 team. Thought that they would come out storming against Tigers after a bad loss the other night.
A plus for the Tigers is that they are lead by 3 seniors along with upper classmen. They have some versatility with several good shooters. Ethan Wright's rebounding and overall play has clearly exceeded expectations but it is early.
This type of game is one that the Tigers and many IL teams would lose in prior years. Based on non-conference play so far, although early, it does not appear that there is a dominant IL team. It does appear that several IL teams have some difficulty playing defense just north and south of here but time will tell.

I only could view the play-by-play, box score, and the rest of the GameCast. One striking (anomalous?) thing was the Tigers badly outrebounding the Beavers, especially on the offensive glass.
PU gave up a lot of points, but took and hit more threes and also did well at the foul line. Not too many Llewelyn sightings in the play-by-play, but Wright seemed to be involved in everything in the second half.
Nice win.

Over the last 3 games, Wright is averaging 18 pts and 12 rebounds, virtually all on the defensive glass against 2 out of 3 Power 5 teams at 6'3". He got limited minutes at South Carolina but had a break out game against Minnesota.
Only player that he kind of reminds me of is Steven Cook, primarily due to his ability to jump much higher than one would anticipate -- pre-game dunks are pretty impressive. Cook was 2 to 3 inches taller and a late bloomer like Wright but much better defender.
Wright will probably have the opportunity to play at a Power 5 team next year especially if he keeps it up which will be tough.

Wright's only weakness I've seen (in a limited sample) is trouble staying in front of dribblers. If that were at least partly remediable with practice and effort over time, then he'd be a good get for anybody. It's hard to replicate his high work rate and knack for making plays on the boards and in the half-court offense.

I agree that he has been overpowered by stronger guards going to the basket. Jaelin also has given up too many baskets to guards going to the hoop. Perhaps, they are overplaying 3 pt shots, like in the Minnesota game although they were better against Marist.
Wright has some muscle but not enough -- Jaelin has gained some strength and maybe lost a little quickness.
Future opponents are going to test them out although IL guards generally do not have the strength of Power 5 guards.

Trying to figure out who they are without the graduated Ethan Thompson, who was their ball-dominant star last year. Rest of the team revolved around him.
