Solid first half by the Red. Down 41-38 on the road to a mid-level Big Ten team. Nice job, guys!
The Nits' John Harrar is probably the best true big man Cornell will see this year. He came in averaging a double-double. Let's see how they handle him the rest of the way.
The dynamic to watch is depth. Penn State plays seven guys. They've got a nice core, but a few of them have to play 34-35min.
If Cornell can put ten or eleven effective guys on the court again, the way they did in the first half, they can stay in this game to the end.

Nice 10-0 run led by some pressure defense and hot shooting from Patel has Cornell back up by 2 at the Under 16

Penn St. closes on a 24-9 run to win 85-74. Cornell led with 6 to go and in a lot ways looked like the better team, but the Nits hit 15 of 34 from behind the arc, while Cornell was just 9 of 32.
Still, this team is deep and a lot of fun to watch. They could be a brutal Ivy match-up with the pace and depth.

Cornell is far from a finished product, but the team is so fun to watch and they play with passion and confidence. The Big Red's style will be a challenge for every team in the Ivies this year, and it will be interesting to see how it translates to wins and losses. But if Cornell is truly the 7th best team in the league, then we're looking at one hell of a league season.
