"The 12th-seeded Spiders’ 67-63 defeat of fifth-seeded Iowa marks the sixth time in the program’s 10 NCAA trips that it has won a game. But it hasn’t come easy; each of those six postseason trips with a victory has included one upset of a No. 5 seed or better.
1984: No. 12 Richmond 72, No. 5 Auburn 71
1988: No. 13 Richmond 72, No. 4 Indiana 69 1988: No. 13 Richmond 59, No. 5 Georgia Tech 55
1991: No. 15 Richmond 73, No. 2 Syracuse 69
1998: No. 14 Richmond 62, No. 3 South Carolina 61
2011: No. 12 Richmond 69, No. 5 Vanderbilt 66
2022: No. 12 Richmond 67, No. 5 Iowa 63
The Spiders (24-12) have a pair of Sweet 16 trips to their credit, in 1988 and again in 2011."

Interesting that the Spiders played VCU three times this season and went 1-2. They lost the first two, 62-64 and 57-77, but won 75-64 last weekend in the second round of the A-10 tournament, on their way to winning the tournament over Davidson, 64-62. They seem to be playing their best right now.

Tigers up 8 with about 6 1/2 to play. All everything Rhyne Howard has missed much of the game with unexplained trip to the locker room. Assumed to be an injury. Now back in the game.

Tigers scorching it at 60% shooting but also have a ton of turnovers (11) with a few minutes left in the half. Some are due to KY pressure but some are just bad passes, dribbling into trouble, dribbling off own foot, etc. Defense looks solid but KY has some big time scorers that will start hitting eventually.

Tiger 26-19
Princeton looks good so far, offense is scoring points and D is great but they have 11 TOs with 3 mins to go in the half.
Howard is back on the court, will need to see if she is at full strength.

Tigers went up 9 and had the ball before Myers missed a bomb and Howard hit one from deep at the buzzer. Up 6 at the half. Looks like they are handling the ball better after 11 TOs.

Last second 3 by 3 time 1st team All American Ky player (her first points) closed it to 6 at halftime.
Tigers playing tough. Ky announcers a bit surprised and condescending. I’d like to hear both halftime locker room talks. Will be an interesting 2nd half.
GO TIGERS!

Doesn’t feel remotely safe. Probably won’t keep shooting 60% and have to figure Kentucky comes back with a better offensive plan, especially if Howard plays a full half

Biggest key under their control is to cut the live-ball turnovers (10 UK points off five steals)

Howard is 1-6 in 1H, I agree that is unlikely to last. However, the Tiger D has clearly disrupted KY's offensive flow and they have mostly scored off of Princeton's TOs.
Princeton's 60% shooting is due to a lot of layups off of missed assignments by KY. If they keep working the ball and limit the unforced errors they can win.
Looking forward to how both teams adjusted over halftime.

Tigers just look rattled. Up to 14 turnovers. Some are result of intense pressure but others just bad passing and dribbling into trouble. Lead down to 2.

Up by 4 at the end of 3rd quarter but it feels like it should have been a lot more. Shooting 52 % and outrebounding Kentucky 27-20 but 17 turnovers--ouch!

Julia Cunningham and Grace Stone are going to have to hit some big shots in 4Q. Myers and Chen will be getting a lot of attention and pressure, they should have some room to score. And Chet Nweke will need to channel her inner Ellie Mitchell to limit KY to one shot per trip.

4 pts up - end of 3rd. But Mitchell with 4 fouls. Ky star benched after technical. A. Can Ky stop whining and play in4th quarter?
