Up and down season, not surprising for very young team that sent two of its leading scorers to the Olympics and, admittedly, doesn't have the best goaltending.

Finished strong and upset higher ranked Clarkson and a 31-5 Quinnipiac team to win the ECAC. As lowest seeded NCAA team (#16) and, again, the youngest team in the tournament, Crimson drew #1 Minnesota St. - the oldest team in the tournament. Minnesota State has won something like 19 in a row and 24 of 25.

Announcers recognizing that MS is bigger, but Harvard is faster. MS jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead, but Harvard fought back with two unanswered goals in the second period. Watching third period - it's streaming and on ESPNU.

Again, announcers seem to assume MS should and will win, but who knows. If Harvard's goalie Gibson can keep the puck out of the net, Harvard will have chances.

Oops, as I write this MS scored on a bullet of wrister. Also just realized that MS's goalie - Dryden McKay - is the son of a goaltender and named after former Cornell goalie and Hall of Famer Ken Dryden.

Down 4-2 and Harvard on a power play coach Ted Donato pulls the goalie and the Crimson score to bring it back to 4-3.

Remember, Harvard pulled its goalie with about 6 minutes left and scored 3 goals vs RPI in the ECAC playoffs to tie and then win in OT.

With just over two minutes to go Harvard has gained respect and is playing 35-5 Minnesota State down to the wire.

Really hope Harvard's roster doesn't bolt for the NHL ala Donato and Fox.

Crimson play the last couple of minutes with empty net and push to the end, but don't score and lose 4-3.

Wonder if anyone else pushes Minnesota State like Harvard just did.

Very few Seniors on this squad (Rifai, Donato, Shore, Dornbach, Schaedig, Murphy). 89 of 116 goals could return. Hope so!
